SAN DIEGO (AP) U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter plans to plead guilty on Tuesday to the misuse of campaign funds and has indicated he will leave Congress.

The California Republican is facing federal corruption charges he looted campaign cash to finance vacations, golf outings and other personal expenses.

He told KUSI television in San Diego in an interview that aired Monday that he is changing his plea to protect his three children from going through a very public trial.

I think it would be really tough for them, he said. Its hard enough being the kids of a public figure. I think its time for them to live life outside the spotlight.

Duncan Hunter...Have I heard of him? if he didn't want his kids in the spotlight maybe he shouldn't have committed crimes while running for public office. Or run for public office at all. Apparently he was corrupt from the start and had no intention of ever serving as anything but a corrupt grifter sucking at the teat of the US government.

Duncan's behavior was just horrible: Not only was he spending campaign funds on bimbos, but his wife was spending a lot of that money as well on luxury items. Then despite knowing there was all sorts of evidence that made conviction a sure thing, he ran for Congress again! And the idiots in my district elected him!!!

That's proof right there the Republican Party has turned into the Organized Crime Party.

Yep.

While he was still misusing funds with his mistress.

Granted, his wife apparently WAS also misusing funds, but still.

What amazes me most is, the wheels of justice have caught up to him but not to the cow guy from Tracy, CA.

You know, Mister Nunes?

ReTHUGlicons like Duncan Hunter deny they're crooked until the day they cop to being crooked. Trump seems pretty good at this game, too.

All you can say in her favor is SHE wasn't the one elected to Congress. Talk about stupid, though: Dunk throws the only person who can be on his side under the bus. I was shocked when I first heard that.

I think he has also cut himself a REALLY good deal. After all, he only plead guilty to something like 60 different charges! I also notice that there is talk of a Trump pardon "to save the expense of housing him in a prison".

This makes a strange kind of sense. Trump, for instance, is doing all he can to offset the trillion dollar debt due to the "biggest tax cut in American history" or the Trillion dollar giveaway to the upper 1%. Another example is cutting food stamps. One can only wonder what comes next!

Issa is coming out of retirement so he can run for Hunter's seat. Appropriate that a crook should take a crook's seat in congress.

And then the crook comes out of retirement to take it back.

Hey, people knew he was a scumbag when they voted for him. Sound familiar?

The weird thing is the people who voted for him are generally middle or working-class. Not criminal-class at all. Why do they not care anymore? I wonder if they really do need to feel like Jesus is watching all the time, to do the right thing.
