Does this sound familiar? Trump’s ‘New’ Canada-Mexico Trade Deal Has All Kinds Of Improvements? Thanks, Obama. It turns out, to no one's surprise, that the "new" NAFTA is the same as the TPP, except with a ridiculous and uninspiring name, because Trump is special that way. Never shy about taking credit for someone else's work, the new treaty was ghostwriter by Obama appointees (See picture).

Just returned from a visit to Canada. They are not all that thrilled that Trudeau caved in on the milk thing. On the other hand it was costing them a lot too. They are not thrilled with Jackass either. Its really quite amazing. First Jackass searched out, and offended, every group he could find and, now, he has moved onto the rest of the world. There are actually Jackass true believers wearing t-shirts professing that Russia is a better place than here.

All that being said we are now finding out that, in theory, the right is actually improving their chances in the mid-terms because Jackass supports a liar, whiner, conspiracy theorist, and suspected woman assaulter Kavanaugh. One can, I suspect, only wonder and hope that, somehow that train gets derailed. So far, however, it just keeps on barreling down the tracks crushing just about everything in its way.

I wish us Luck - we are going to need it!

Yeah...no kidding.

I was watching on Netflix a CNN series about "The Nineties" and I did not know that when Bill Clinton announced his candidacy for President, he talked about "Making America Great Again."

Does Fatboy have any shame in recycling other people's ideas? Hmm Apparently not. coffee

As an aside, also in CNN's "Nineties" series, when Bill Clinton became president, the Republican House Leader Gingrich said he would obstruct everything that Clinton did.

This Republican obstructionism has been going on for 25 years. Own it Republicans.

And then Clinton went on to endorse any decent Republican proposals. They called this "triangulation" and hated him even more for blunting their attack strategy. That's really the origin of the "Hastert Rule": If the Democrat in the White House likes some bill, oppose it even if we wrote it to begin with. The triumph of partisanship over policy.

Actually, Congressional Democrats kept on adding RomneyCare items as they tried to get some Republican votes. They believed bipartisanship is valuable, which it is if you want your programs to last beyond the next majority turnover. At the end, it was almost identical, except the mandate fines of ACA were lower. Still no Republican votes.

Obama's feeling on it was: "Whatever you can work out, I will sign because an imperfect healthcare deal is better that no deal."

So blaming it on Obama and calling it ObamaCare is just some aftermarket Republican BS. They should have just called it RomneyCare from the start, so some Republicans would have supported it.

I remember when Obamacare was marked up. If I remember correctly the Republicans actually wrote half of that bill then none voted for it. It used to be on C-span.
