Simple question:

If ISIS, on the heels of enjoying a vast Get Out of Jail Free card, promulgates a successful or even moderately successful terrorist attack on our shores, will you hold President Trump personally responsible?

Are the two mutually exclusive? Because I was maybe thinking that they were connected somehow. Silly me, must be the Dems fault.

Trump puts children and families on the southern border seeking a better life in cages; meanwhile, in Syria, Trump's actions freed ISIS members from their cages.

Trump - always doing Putin's work. smile

I don't understand that either because if you really thought I should disregard your post, you would delete it.

I certainly am not suggesting you delete your own posts.

But anyway..

Look, if there was even one former member of the JCOS, or anyone in statecraft back when we used to actually have any, or anyone in sufficient numbers in Congress, who also viewed this as sheer brilliance, I could actually entertain the notion that Trump craftily tossed a tarbaby to Russia, saying "It's YOUR problem now, suckers."

If only that were true!
In order for it to be true however, one must remove ALL petroleum supply routes and all oilfields from the equation.
Because that is precisely what makes this a hot potato in the first place, and it is precisely why no one in the region is willing to allow the Kurds their own self-determination.

And the moment any of the Kurds has the balls and the temerity to suggest that all that oil in the ground is property of the Kurdish people, then suddenly they are COMMUNISTS to boot.

I think we heard that song and dance in Iran back in 1953 when we justified giving the Iranian people the shaft.
So congratulations for committing the biggest Middle Eastern blunder since we greenlit the CIA coup in Iran in 1953.

That is the REAL reality.

The PKK is communist, or so I thought. There’s international anarchists there as well. They’ve done a good job of securing that part of Syria from ISIS and Assad’s forces. That has helped our troops in Syria and Iraq.
We now have a fascist government in Turkey and a fascist sympathetic government in the U.S. Destroying the leftists is a win for both governments. Destroying leftists is a time honored tradition post WW2, no?

It's pure madness for the sake of the resource curse.
We are a client state of Russia now, we must do their bidding, and they want control over the oil and gas in that region and they have always wanted it.

Turkey will ultimately align completely with far Right Moscow.
My brain does a weird tic when I say "far Right Moscow", but it is what it is, ain't it?

We must stop the madness.

I’m a fan of Mauldin, Hedges, Pyle or any other reporter that gets out of the military base press trailers and does real reporting of what’s happening at the front.
Brace Belden (pisspiggranddad) hade a great interview of his time volunteering in Rojava and is one of the more candid reports of what goes on there. Nice to get it fresh off the truck for a change, although the interview is a few years old now:

War is heck

Belden now has his own lefty podcast ‘Trueanon’. He and his co-host Liz did a hilarious multi-episode series on Epstein that shouldn’t be missed either.

Nevertheless, Belden and Mauldin notwithstanding, the resource curse is what the communism attacks are based on, because we clearly have no problem doing business with any communist nation.

Communism and fascism are not automatic barriers to trade with the USA.

Telling oil companies that they will not be allowed to adopt imperialistic measures and use American military muscle to get what they want and how they want it is when you get branded the "bad" kind of communist.

PS: I was first introduced to Bill Mauldin when I discovered my father's hardcover signed first edition copy of "Up Front".
I was seven years old. wink

Uhmm
Pretty sure communism has been one of the few barriers to trade. In fact, communist socialist, godlessness has been the justifications for coups, embargo’s and proxy wars for the last 100 years now with the capitalists classes. WW2 was the exception and didn’t last long. Hostilities commenced immediately and the cognitive dissonance was as great then as it is now from what I’ve learned.
Naw, this Syrian withdraw seems to fit the pattern nicely. Anarchists had been predicting a withdrawal since 2016.

Hard to believe someone like a Mauldin could exist in today’s military paper. Too honest.

*@(% YES

From the moment of the order to withdraw, I lay ISIS activities at his feet. I lay all Kurdish deaths at his feet, I lay all deaths resulting from his actions at his feet. As I have said before, President Donald (was a Coward, is a Coward) Trump is a coward, traitor, misogynist, sexual predator, etc, and last and not least he is a narcissist.

They are godless communist terrorists. They are getting what they deserve. This follows US right wing Imperialist policy dating back to the October revolution.
Why should Syria be different?

They are godless communist terrorists because they have oil.
Our foreign policy has centered around and catered to oil ever since we discovered that we (and the rest of the world) NEEDED MORE of the stuff than we had, or have.
