Don't know if anyone is watching the Oscars, but I was very moved by Lance Black's acceptance speech for best original screenplay, Milk.

Ken I'm not sure about Ireland, but my English Recipe for this tells me that Dick was a name commonly used for Dogs. Hence if you read this: "Spotted Dog", it makes a little more sense. The raisins in the recipe make it Spotted. English recipes are often rather whimsical, like "Bubble and Squeak" or "Toad in the Hole"
