Queer, isn't it, I've indulged in the ritual three times?

The last time, which has all the hallmarks of being the only correct time (as well as the last time), happened in Batopilas, Mexico, officiated by El Presidente de Batopilas (the mayor). The reception was during happy hour at the MC Escher inspired hotel, followed by a week of Copper Canyon hiking adventures.

My advice is to make the first time the last time! ThumbsUp

As to the gay community being happier than the straight community...

Well. I beg to disagree. I think that happiness all depends on the individual, no matter their sexual orientation. There are more straights than Gays, so you'd have to look at proportion.

I know several straights that have all kinds of relationships, whether they are married or not, children are only a burden if that is how you view it. I am responsible for my state of happiness/non-happiness. So I try to be as happy as possible. My family isn't much different.

Life is too short to be unhappy-so I'm not!

At my new job, I've already been asked: Are you married. "Marriage isn't for me at this time..." is my response.

I agree. My friend Crystal is 45 and getting married for the first time. No kids, has one dog - Mr. Lover - and one golden retriever that has passed on named Buttercup.

That sounds great. Are they going to get in the boat and sail away the next morning? That could be a romance novel cover!

BTW: I'm sure the relative happiness of GLBT folks depends a lot on where they live, how "out" they are, and how well that is going. Used to be pretty bad, even deadly. Horror stories like Matthew Shepard's stand out because they are relatively rare these days. Most places in the US are much better now than just a few decades ago.

Only if Crystal's BIL shows up - which of course he will - cuz he married to Debbie her sister.

Chris is a very handsome, hunky, hairy ex-cop who I've fancied for 16 years now. He should be 48 now.

Gawd, I hope he's held up well. smile

Gay marriage is passing in New York. California did it first in 2005 but Schwarzenegger vetoed it.
