Rick I don't give a ra, but you should be more aware than that. Recently viruses have targeted the Apple OS because they are so lazy about patching holes and now that their user share has risen above 5% they are a valuable target.

I do appreciate your perspective Phil. I really do. However, what you stating isn't panning out according to my Google searches.

Mac virus onslaught in 2011 - not so fast.

I'm reading your posts and verifying what your stating and I'm not seeing what you're seeing. Hmm

Rick, have you priced Macs? Damn things cost twice as much!
If the only advantage is a decreased susceptibility to viruses I really don't think it's worth it. I recently got a quad core, custom built machine with intel everything inside it, running Windows 7 Premium Home Edition.
It was roughly 1/3 the cost of a comparable Mac.
Once you update your software to this century, I think you'll be amazed how far things have come.
Rick's Computer:

The Damnational Wonky 13

Wonky was the way to go in the Gay 90's but since then we've come a long long way.
Even in the early years of this century there were far better machines available, such as this:

The Underwood Elegance

Don't blame the manufacturer of your outmoded equipment for its inability to keep up with Modern Malware, Rick.

And now for something completely different.

Instead of getting involved in the rabble right away I thought that I would contribute something light and inoffensive.

Last year we remodeled our kitchen and in case you have any interest at all, my wife did a blog on the whole process while in progress. Here is her blog

Am I showing off? Yea, probably.

Nice kitchen Jim.

I'm guessing, Oak cabinets with a Corian counter top? Also, love the recessed lighting. Very nice!!

True for the old; for the new, maple cabinets and granite countertops.

I have a craftsman style home. I'm looking to replace the carpeting downstairs with hardwood floors. There is rock decor on the outside of the house that I want to bring inside and install around the hearth of the fireplace and around the kitchen island.

I want to do granite too. But, a lighter granite. I did dark granite in my mom's house, and I'm glad I did, and I thought it a good thing at the time, but now, I'd do a lighter granite in my home.

I also found a Monet wall fountain to go over the fireplace. smile

There is a really nice sofa set by American Leather that I've been lusting over for at least 8 yearrs. Its really soft leather, no seams in the middle only at the appropriate edges, and a cocoa brown. And, it's American made in North Carolina.

I'll do two love seats instead of a sofa - too big. Two loves seats around a smaller coffee table gives proper scaling.

That's your gay decorating tip for today. wink
