Atheists Wash Florida Road Christians Anointed With Oil Olivia Katrandjian ABC News March 17, 2012 County Road 98 in Polk County, Fla., was scrubbed today by a group of atheists who are protesting the “Polk Under Prayer” campaign, supporters of which poured olive oil on the road last year in an anointment ceremony...
Last week, Polk Under Prayer campaign members buried bricks that were engraved with Psalm 37:9-11 beside the 12 major roadways leading into the county, praying for criminals to become Christian or be incarcerated... It's difficult to figure out which group is nuttier - the atheists or Polk Under Prayer: ...Tim Williams and Pastor Frank talk about the PUP project that Tim has been called to carry out. PUP stands for Polk Under Prayer. It's objective is to place Holy Angels at all roads that lead into or out of Polk County. A strip of anointed oil has been placed over all lanes of highway at the county line and a prayer has been given at each location asking God to have angels inspect every vehicle that travels into or out of this county and to bring under conviction to those who seek evil and we asked God to bring them to a state of submission and repentance. If they will not submit to God's way of living, then the prayer is to have them incarcerated or removed from the county... BTW, here is Psalm 37:9-11 (King James Version): 9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. Getting back to the subject of atheists, an online pal of mine who is a former atheist said that some atheists are not really atheists at all. They are militant anti-Christians. I think many of them are Chicken Little alarmists. They see a theocrat behind every bush and aren't above dishonest tactics such as conflating the Westboro Baptist Church with Baptists in general.

I got as far as the bit where these frigging idiots are pouring oil on the roads. Roads that I might drive on. They may want to be called to heaven early, but I'd just as soon not go until it's my time. In my mind anyone who pours oil on the road deserves to be in jail on a felony charge. And I do NOT give a damn whether they've found God or not. That's just downright dangerous.

And I do NOT give a damn whether they've found God or not. That's just downright dangerous. These folks are crackpots, but it's not that bad. Watch the video. They poured a thin stripe of oil across the road last year. The rain probably washed it away. Moreover, do you think the police would have allowed it if they thought it was dangerous?

I understand that, golem, but if a little oil is OK, how much is not OK? Two lines? Ten for a really bad intersection? A quart? I get really worried when I hear that people are doing lines in public.
As to the rain washing it away, I am not certain I agree. About three blocks from where I live a pole transformer blew and spewed cooling oil, which is apparently mineral oil, all over the road. Five years later you can still see where the oil soaked in and after a misting rainfall the road is slick as the oil is brought up to the surface and there is not sufficient water to wash it away.
If I see someone purposely putting oil on the road for any reason I will drop a dime on them immediately, complete with cell phone pictures, etc. If Christians truly believed in the doing unto other things they would not do sh!t like this.
