There is no other because we do not have individual minds -- that is an illusion born of ego.

I'm withholding judgment until I hear what Ma_R has to say about it.

I think that you are correct.... just my opinion

Never the less, what does seem abundantly clear is that the human animal has almost exclusively lived in social groups... which would not be true if our species did not naturally have a collective mind set

?

How can we have an ego if we are not individuals?

Is not the ego the illusion of individuality? Ever notice how much we share this illusion? Ever get suspicious of that voice that always chatters on in the head?

NO, I am never suspicious of the voices in my head. They tell me what to do and to whom to do it. We are at peace with myself.

Is the ego the illusion of reality? Or is the ego the very definition of reality?

You have a source to back up this unusual concept?

Wiki says:
Quote:
In spirituality, and especially nondual, mystical and eastern meditative traditions, individual existence is often described as a kind of illusion. This "sense of doership" or sense of individual existence is that part which believes it is the human being, and believes it must fight for itself in the world, is ultimately unaware and unconscious of its own true nature.

I don't give much credence to "mystical and eastern meditative traditions"
