Three years ago when I was shopping for insurance, there weren’t that many options to choose from. And the plan I ended up with is expensive and, to put it bluntly, crappy.

I'm really surprised this article exists on the Fox News website. Roger Ailes must not know its there.

...and, also too, Chrissy from Three's Company probably shouldn't be your Obamacare source.

I strongly suspect the people scoffing at ACA have not been stuck in the COBRA or Individual Policy market anytime over the last decade. Most of the posts I read are from people comparing their employer's group rates and coverage to exchange policies.

That's a silly comparison because exchange policies are meant to give uninsured people and families access to the same kind of policy quality and discount rates that the big companies have been getting all along.

When the "target audience" of uninsured people or those dwelling in Individual Policy Hell spend their 4 hours on the website and save >$4000 per year for better coverage, its going to be a miracle for them. And it's going to make the Republicans look like liars or fools.

Then there's all the people who can't do simple math: One post I read was bragging about their cheap "Major Medical" policy that covered their entire family with a $10,000 yearly cap... What can I say? That's like building your house out of toothpicks!

The availability of reasonable-cost health insurance will also do wonders in stimulating the growth of new companies (which the GOP should actually be thrilled about, if you believe their words instead of their actions): I know plenty of very smart people who would have quit their company jobs and started their own consulting business, but they found the health insurance for themselves and their families would be either ungodly expensive or entirely unavailable because of pre-existing conditions. ACA means they can follow their dreams and start that new business without fear.

ROTFMOLOh, come on, Rick. Chrissy's as qualified to give medical advice as Fox contributor Sarah Palin is qualified to give political analyses ... or as Rep. Michele Bachmann is qualified to question anyone's honesty ... or as Christine O'Donnell to continue fund raising.

Hm-m-m-m-m-m. What do these ladies have in common? Is it a case of attractive merchandising?
