This is a longish article about the "Crystal Cathedral"
A mega church in Orange county. It's ministry is no longer self sustaining, and so the complex has been purchased by the Catholic Church.

The article sets this example as part of a broader trend where evangelical Christianity, mega churches, and mass media preachers are slowly waning in importance.

Where are the people, indeed, to support the lavish lifestyle of these "preachers." Great article, Ardy, thanks for the link. smile

Evangelists with their mega-churches are just pyramid marketing scam artists, selling Jesus instead of vitamins. I think they found the perfect buyer: The Crystal Cathedral will be a perfect example of what's been wrong with The Catholic Church for the last 1500 years.

I think they could have made a much better use of the building by adding multiple floors inside the glass shell, and sold it as high-tech office space.

Not the congregation but the real estate is. The catholic church bought it a couple years ago. They lease it back to the Young Rev. Schuler.

The "young" Rev. Schuler?
I worked on a film of his.
Major PITA...
