CANTOR LOSES

Quote:
Dave Brat, a local economics professor, toppled House Majority Leader Eric Cantor on Tuesday night in the most shocking primary defeat since Republicans took the House in 2010.

The conservative challengerís victory halts one of the most meteoric rises in national politics, and illustrates the strong anti-incumbent fever that has taken over Cantorís Richmond-area district. Cantor is the second House incumbent to lose this primary season ó Texas GOP incumbent Ralph Hall was defeated by a tea-party backed challenger at the end of May.

Yes, but if he isn't good enough for his own state, how can he be good enough for the rest of us? I think he needed a strong win here to have a shot at the top job.

I hope that the T-Partiers bring down mean old woman McConnell now. smile

Update: My T-Baggers have told me that McConnell has already won his primary. Never mind. smile

Senator McConnell won his primary. Ms. Grimes, the Democrat, will have to take him out.

This loss means no immigration reform from the GOP and, subsequently, the loss of the Latino vote. Way to go T-Baggers!

Oh, Ardy, I caught the irony ... but I just had to put the words out there. Felt good typing them.

I'm still doing a strange little victory dance every time I think about his demise loss. His smug little self.

I wonder if the protesters who showed up at soon-to-be-gone Representative Cantor's place demanding immigration reform were actually taking credit for his losing the nomination. I mean, I'm sure they were watching the news and knew he lost. So ...
