Writer John Nolte made this assessment after PolitiFact rated "mostly false" the following quote by Senator Cruz.

"Here, we have Thanksgiving, we have Christmas, we have the 4th of July. Every year in Iran, they celebrate death to America day, which is the anniversary of Iran in the 1970s taking Americans hostage."

Breitbart accuses PolitiFact of fact checking an obvious joke, which, they say, PolitiFact never does to Democrats and then gives two examples of President Obama's humor.

What the examples show is that President Obama is FUNNY and Ted Cruz definitely isn't.

Let's give PolitiFact a pass for not recognizing the Cruz quote as humor.

Oh, wait! Maybe this article was supposed to be funny! Maybe the expletive was in there to make it more obviously Jon Stewart-ish. Or Bill Maher-ish. Drat. That Republican sense of humor. It's so hard to tell.

Let's point and laugh at Ted Cruz trying to 'joke' and failing miserably - for fun!

Below is a video of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Needs New Material) trying to charm the International Association of Fire Fighters in Dallas last week, with some jokes! Apparently, conservatives eat up this crap and cheer and thump their chests and say “Oooh, Cruz for president!” A firefighters’ union, though? Not so much:

I’ll tell you what I think is the simplest and best tax reform. We should abolish the IRS.

[Waits for cheers and applause. Doesn’t get any. Not even a polite chuckle.]

And I’ve joked before, there are right now 110,000 IRS agents. We ought to padlock the IRS building and put those 110,000 agents all on our Southern border.

On tax reform, we right now have more words in the IRS code than there are in the Bible.

[Stone cold silence.]

We need to repeal every word of Obamacare.

Ted will see himself out now.
Contrarian, extraordinaire

Anyone who listens to the "mene mene tekel upharsin" intonations of Pastor Rafael Cruz as he annoints his son as the heir apparent to the new theocratic uprising and then says lil Ted "was just joshin" has to be certifiably insane, or a giant A-hole.
There isn't a system in the universe that wouldn't value the words and actions of this pair as intent on destruction of the status quo.
The question is only whether or not the status quo is legitimate and thus when Ted Cruz speaks of "freedom" liberty or The Founding Fathers he is truly speaking with forked tongue because his values are in direct opposition to everything those men stood for.

Harboring a scoundrel like this is tantamount to plotting a coup.
The army lies hiding in plain sight. The dozen or so skirmishes like the one at the Bundy Ranch are nothing less than war games.

The most interesting connection between fundamental Christians and Jews is that the Jews are being used by the fundy Christians (as witnessed by The Cruzer’s baiting speech) as vehicles to gain entry into their ordained (Christian) afterlife. In Christian Fundamental philosophy the Jews-at the end times- most be persuaded to accept Jesus Christ as their true savior. Some Jews will comply but most won’t.

The ones (Jews) who accept Jesus Ke-rist will be saved. The rest will roast on a pig spit. It is is gawds will. Then all of the “chosen” (born again Christians and accepting Jews of the proper flavor) will ascend to heaven. Sound familiar? It’s the same promise holier than holy Islamist fundamentalists are promised by ISIS type people.

Except in their view Jews and Christian need not apply. Not anyone else.

All of it is such bullshit. All of it. But it works as a motivator and vote getter. For Ted Cruzer types. ISIS et al’ers are not looking for votes. They have other means of persuasion. It all goes to shoyu what bullshit all religions are. And political parties by extension. And what hacks most politicians are. Both are solely tools of brainwashing to be used for political and economic gain.

As are such ideologies as communism or fascism. Also unfettered capitalism. But humans need to belong somewhere and have an identifying tribe they can attach to. It’s built into our DNA from which we cannot escape.

But that’s a topic for another day.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

Are you ready to hand all of society’s money over to the Christian leaders whom the heavens have anointed to be “God’s bankers”? More on the fascinating Christian Dominionist theology of pastor Rafael Cruz, father of leading Tea Party politician Ted.

Ted Cruz’s Father Preaches That His Son ...sfer Of Wealth”

Ted Cruz’s Father Preaches That His Son Is An “Anointed King” Who Will Bring The “End Time Transfer Of Wealth”

Of course you have to understand that there is a method to their madness because you and I (people that the Cruz Klan term WICKED) aren't going to just naturally roll over and offer up our bank accounts.

Nope, something has to happen that causes us to LOSE our wealth and Ted's minions believe in an end times gospel in which we writhe in agony and gnash our teeth over the FAILURE of America, and offer up our wealth to anyone who will march in as a savior and save us from destruction, and Ted figures that his minions will be placed in a position to snatch all that wealth as we the wicked PAY THE PRICE for our sins.

Now, in order for that to happen, FIRST ..... AMERICA HAS TO FAIL, right?

Therefore, anything his party can do, ANYTHING, to HASTEN America's failure, is seen by them as DOING GOD'S WORK.

Get the picture?

Suddenly all the horrific crap the Republicans have been doing MAKES PERFECT SENSE now, because they're just trying to HASTEN the fall of this country, because they've told themselves it is the right thing to do, it is God's will.

Of course this doesn't jibe with the fact that the REAL Jesus was more enamored of kicking bankers and moneychangers OUT of the temple, so in reality these maniacs sound more like a bank sponsored satanic cult.

I have, on numerous occasions, tried to engage so-called "conservatives" in discussions about real-world issues. It has been an utter failure. It has simply been impossible to communicate (which implies a two-way conversation). I have come to believe it is because of the apocalyptic mythos that undergirds the whole conservative mindset. Many are not even aware of it.

In the past, "conservatism" was "based" upon the preservation of the status quo. That has not been the case, however, since at least Reagan. There are, of course, different threads of "conservatism" - social, religious, economic - but what binds them together now is the "faith-based" dogmatism of their creed. For some it is "laissez faire" capitalism, some Christian-themed apocalysm, but for most simply anti-"otherism" - religion, sexuality, nationality, ethnicity, color, political label. They cannot even usually identify the basis for their aversion, but it is born of the religious theme of "us" (the chosen people) versus "them". "We" possess the right answer which has been given to us, and "they" are apostates, unbelievers, cranks, tree-huggers, anti-American - whatever dismissive label can be applied to avoid facing reality, the facts, or whatever evidence challenges their doctrinaire belief system, or acknowledges the legitimacy of another viewpoint.

Netanyahu tapped into that directly in his campaign, and Bush, Cruz, Paul and others do it with their rhetoric. "People of conscience" immediately defines the "other" as those "without conscience", when, in fact, the opposite is true: by giving themselves over to signs (faith), they don't have to exercise their conscience, or even conscious thought. It is in this mode that holocausts and ISIS are born. When one is excused from thinking about the consequences of one's actions, horrible crimes result. The GOP is on that path, whether acknowledged or not, and that is very dangerous indeed.
A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.

Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich
