The most potent weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. -Steve Biko, anti-apartheid activist (18 Dec 1946-1977) I read somewhere in the last few days that the fear of terrorism makes Liberals think more like Conservatives, causing them to tribal up and get more bigotty about "others". Even though terrorism is a tiny threat to our country, it is becoming the primary issue of the campaign, which will serve the clowns on the GOP bus quite well.

It is very telling that they don't have any other campaign issues (and never have). And fear, as we all know, only helps the oppressor. There is nothing in their platform other than making the rich richer and keeping everyone else part of the enslaved many. Using social issues which are ridiculous at their root as wedges, and preying on the collective hysteria that surges every time some sicko with a gun starts shooting. Fear lends itself to images much more than logic and reason ever will.

I have been wondering about the Republicans and their campaign of fear and hate. My thought is that I suspect they have worked wonders, in this regard, and now they are reaping the results as they seem to have really awakened the crazies, and they are out in force. Their problem, I think, is that their 'supporters' have taken the message and run with it. Now the preachers of the right are working, very hard, to catch up with the lunacy they have ignited.
I find it interesting and very strange.
