War is a great political tool. Think about it. If you can start a war, kill a few kids and a lot of gooks you are on your way! The parents of the killed kids, as far as I can tell, have been unable to admit that their children were killed for exactly nothing and the majority seem to do a full migration to the right and start supporting all war and the right. Its a pretty tough, unfeeling way to build supporters but it seems to work. Then there are the 'private' contractors. They do pretty good too! Then you have your arms manufacturers. They have convinced our government to arm the entire middle east, including Qatar, which seems to support any and all Sunni groups (we call them terrorists, they call them freedom fighters (learned that from the Israeli freedom fighters)). Since we seem to be constantly fighting these same Sunni groups, and we have been pretty consistent, over the years, supporting the Sunni faction one can only wonder?

Everytime you turn on the TV there is always talking heads giving due to who, or what, we are going to arm next. We have an entire part of the world bombing each other with "Made In the USA" on each bomb, gun, etc.

Anybody remember when the Russians went down and we had nobody to fight, defence stocks were plummeting, and we were looking, really hard, for somebody to hate? I guess, in their wisdom, our elected solved that pesky problem. We now have wars that go on forever. (and there are those unbelievers who are constantly whining that our elected are incapable of functioning).

I always thought the three state solution was the only chance for stability in the region, right from the get go. Now that the Turks can see that there are groups worse than the Kurds (ISIS), we can arm the Kurds and be done with it. Let ISIS have central Iraq, and Iran can embrace the Shia in the South.

There, problem solved and even the weapons companies are happy.

Except that if you listen to ISIS, after they establish their caliphate, they will move on to impose Islam on the rest of the world. So there will still be fighting. rolleyes

I have heard the Peshmurga are kicking IS butt in the North and I think Iran would be happy to hook up with the Shia in the South. So I suspect this would keep ISIS busy with enemies on both sides.

Sort of a "let's you and him fight" kinda deal for us.

Bump:
Benghazi, emails, and other nonsense. Meanwhile:

Quote:
The question of Clinton's emails has sucked up a huge amount of oxygen in the American news cycle over the past year. While Comey has stated that Clinton and her staff were "extremely careless" in their handling of classified information, it's still unclear to what extent Clinton's email activities compromised national security.

Nevertheless, judging from the GOP outrage, it appears the emails and what Clinton may or may not have done with them will be a recurring talking point in the election cycle. It’s interesting to consider the attention on the matter in a week when a very different investigation on the other side of the Atlantic finally came to light.

But--but--4 Americans died! What BS. And “they” get away with it. What is wrong with so many Americans?
