NONE of the countries where Muslims are being banned from come from any country where Trump is currently doing business. Those Muslims are still free and clear to visit the U.S.

Plus, Trump said he would admit Christians over Muslims from the countries his banned Muslims from - and that's in the EO signed on Friday.

These are the very campaign promises he promised to the knuckle-dragging mouth-breathers during the campaign.

America can't wait for Trump to do more damage. With the violations of the Emoluments Clause, there is enough goods to start Impeachment hearings and get a vote. Plus an Emoluments Clause lawsuit would give us access to his tax returns during the 'discovery phase' of the lawsuit. mad

Violating legitimate federal court orders threatens democracy. The leadership of customs and border enforcement should be held for contempt and if they refuse to counter their orders, charged with treason. They swore to uphold the Constitution, not to follow the President's illegal orders. It is okay to give them a chance to recognize their mistake because this has never happened before.

But if they don't back down, they need to be charged. Otherwise it is the end of the Republic.

This is WAY more consequential then anything Nixon did.

I 100% agree. That's why I started the thread: Are we witnessig a coup in America?

Trump’s top advisors on immigration, including chief strategist Steve Bannon and senior advisor Stephen Miller, see themselves as launching a radical experiment to fundamentally transform how the U.S. decides who is allowed into the country and to block a generation of people who, in their view, won’t assimilate into
American society.

We know how this works, if we are old enough to remember Nixon. He did similar things right before he resigned in face of impeachment.

Any acting AG who defends his Executive Order is gonna be disgraced and perhaps disbarred when this is over. It violates so many things in the Constitution I doubt anyone who made it through law school will think it is defensible. Unless he nominates Giuliani to replace her: His head is so far up Trump's ass he would gladly strain at a gnat and swallow an elephant. Still would lose, of course.

Interestingly enough, it is Ghouliani who outted Trump's EO as religious-based. smile

I wonder if there will be a Spiro Agnew-style indictment to get Pense out of the line of succession before they impeach Trump. It would be a huge embarrassment to the Republican Party if they had to impeach Trump and then impeach Pense a few months later. Everybody in Congress hates Cruz, but I imagine Jeb is a possibility.

I think Kasich might be a reasonable replacement.

He is: Vice President, Speaker of the House, President pro tempore of the Senate, then the cabinet, beginning with the Secretary of State. Not much hope there.

Ben Carson could wind up as President after all Hmm gobsmacked rolleyes
