The current Trump behavior is EXACTLY what we need but more would even be better. If the jackass is allowed to do it all piecemeal I am not convinced that he can't continue his march to wherever. I understand that folks are going to get hurt but those depending on stuff, like medicare and social security need to understand just what they are risking and, so far, nobody has actually pointed any of that out that I have noticed. There is nothing people hate to hear more than "I told you so" so they need to be told, over and over, just what they risk, to the point where their own instinct to survive kicks in and overrides silly.

Anyway, I figure a Trump entry into the crazy ranks quickly, rather than softly and incrementally, is the way to go. The true supporters need to be the recipients of Trump Shock and Awe instead of steady incrementalism.

Here are some links on current Trump legal problems (and there a more - hopefully a LOT more!):

The resistance is rapidly descending down Maslow's "hierarchy of needs" from intellectual disagreement to an existential threat. My hope is thar it will spur sustained, vigorous, all-out opposition before it is too late.

If all else fails, in 2018 LOTS of people are going to lose their health insurance and Republicans are going to be holding the bag. Plenty of Trump supporters don't even know "ObamaCare" equals ACA. That is going to be an existential shock, when prices shoot up, and insurance reverts back to crappy or unavailable. Especially when California keeps "Covered California" but red states opt to get rid of it. (That is a serious Republican replacement plan.)

Likewise if Ryan gets his way and screws with Social Security and/or MediCare. All those Rust Belt Trump voters will figure out something has gone very wrong when their checks get smaller or disappear. It's real hard to keep supporting the con-man when your wallet gets drained. Hard to give that an "alternate fact" explanation.

You laugh but Public Radio actually interviewed people on the streets in Kentucky: Many hated and feared ObamaCare but they loved and depended on the state's healthcare insurance program.

Which was the state's name for ... ACA.

That has been replicated quite a bit. Loads of people saying "ObamaCare bad, ACA great".

Jimmy Kimmel did the very same thing last week. There are so many stupid people out there - it is absolutely incredible. No wonder we have President* Trump in Office.

I sometimes think we made a big mistake doing all these "Get Out The Vote" public service campaigns. What we should do is have really huge parties in each city with free beer, chase-and-explosion movies, and wrestling events on every election day. Run the parties all the hours that the polls are open, but put them on the other side of town from the polls.

Then start a "all the cool people party" campaign.

I think one of the old science fiction authors had such a story. The stupid people had a great time with cars that shot out showers of sparks and loud engines (but only went 20 MPH), free entertainment, and free booze. The smart people watching over them were disguised as bathroom attendants or similar hidden occupations.
