Yes, Edison batteries do not degrade much over time, except for water loss. You just have to go top them up with deionized water once a month. And that's exactly why nobody wants to manufacture them: You make one sale and never sell one to that customer again!

Manufacturers love regular filled-plate lead-acid starter batteries. Self-destruction is a sure thing, so plenty of repeat customers every few years even if they maintain there batteries perfectly. That's why I mentioned solid plate lead-acid batteries AKA deep-cycle. Same chemistry but built to last a very long time.

I actually have a book all about making them. I considered it but I don't want to do all that lead melting for health reasons. Buying thick sheet lead you can just cut up is not really cost competitive with buying used forklift deep cycle batteries. I figured I would need about $20,000 worth of batteries to do the same job as my $1800 grid-tie inverter. Being on the grid is worth quite a lot, in terms of PV power.

In a Washington Post article, some of the WH insiders that see other WH members as "worldly" and "polished" are dismissed as "Democrats":

Quote:
Inside the White House, they are dismissed by their rivals as “the Democrats.”Outspoken, worldly and polished...

"Worldly" and "polished" are not labels I would affix to Trump CONservatives. coffee

It all depends on how you look at budget cuts. There will always be winners and losers, but even with painful cuts some may still find a silver lining!

What if?

Trump is impeached and convicted.

He refuses to leave office....."the people elected me and that is to who I will listen."

If he was convicted, he would no longer be President, Pence would be. He might sit in his White House office for a while, but the Secret Service, FBI, etc, would no longer treat him as anything but a trespasser. I guess his private security and some of his staff would support him but not any of the real power in DC.

That wouldn't surprise me. Things are not liable to get better for this administration. He just threw the entire Republican congress under the bus over the healthcare fiasco, first threatening them if they didn't vote for it then refusing to negotiate further and heading back to Florida for yet another vacation.
It's ironic that Trump had nothing to do with this bill which is entirely the work of Paul Ryan but he is the one Congress will toss under the bus when it fails. And fail it will whether it passes or not.
Being President is going to become less and less fun for Trump as his adoring crowds are replaced by angry protesters.
