Pepsi released its astonishingly tone-deaf protest-themed ad earlier this week where Kendal Jenner stops a photo-shoot she's in to join a protest and when met with a line of stern-faced cops, the suggestion that the key to ending police brutality is to present the cops with a can of Pepsi.

Original Pepsi ad:

SNL's theory of how the ad got made:

Production company ThirtyRev redid the Pepsi ad with the same music, but instead of fake protestors carrying signs that said things like “Love,” they showed actual footage of the Dakota Access Pipeline protestors at Standing Rock. The video first surfaced on Mashable.

Some of it can be difficult to watch. At times, police officers are shown using rubber bullets and tear gas on protesters. At the end of the video, Pepsi’s logo appears and underneath it, it says “Water Is Life.”

Lyrics like the ones used in the Pepsi and subsequent ThirtyRev video frighten old white CONservatives. They know America is changing and they're scared to death.

Scared they'll be treated the very same way they treated this generation's parents, grandparents, and great grandparents.

Lesson: Treat others how you wanted to be treated.

I didn't think it was possible for a beverage company to be more tone deaf than Pepsi but Budweiser may have come pretty close.

"COLORS" as done by WHITE PEOPLE, with one token black in the background. The spot aired during WGN's show "Underground" which featured a speech by Harriet Tubman.

I think they meant to title it "Coloreds".

The sound for the ThirtyRev video has been muted. ThirtyRev thinks that Skip Marley's label complained to YouTube and not Skip Marley himself given that the ThrityRev video is about actual protesters.
