(The title pretty much sums up the Alt-Right/Tea Party/Trump supporter mindset)

via National Review

Quote:
Hanna Rosin published a book with the help of her husband a few years back entitled The End of Men: The Rise of Women. Iíve not read it, but I am familiar with how the story ends. It ends with traditional guys like me winking out of existence. According to the story, if we ever served a purpose, which is doubtful, weíve been replaced by things like robots and the internet. Then thereís the welfare state, which magically meets the needs of women and children better than men ever did.

This is the crux of the Alt-Right movement. These people long for the days of male-dominance in culture and government and they're upset that men really don't serve a purpose in American life any longer - because women and children can take care of themselves thanks to government.

Well, I have read some science fiction stories were the men just live in their own separate areas and serve as anonymous sperm donors when women want babies.

I think the idea that women need government to take care of them is a major fallacy: They are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves, but are much more cooperative than men. A lesbian couple can take care of each other during pregnancy. Taking that cooperation to the logical conclusion, you use government to encompass cooperation from everybody.

Of course, we could clone women right now (IE. Dolly the sheep) so they could reproduce without men at all, as long as they are willing to give up the biological advantages of sexual reproduction. Ironically, the primary advantage is evolution!
