these folks hear what they want to hear. The reporting is 44 states are in some respect not going to comply with the egregious request for personal information. What Kobach and other conservatives are saying is news outlets are saying 44 are not complying at all which is incorrect.

Only a course in logic would help these guys and then only if they passed it.

Ken, I’d be curious where you came up with the 43% figure.

Just saw this hence the delayed response.

I was referring to the poll numbers of “Trumps Base” which seem to be in the lower 40’s, upper 30’s percentile of the electorate, depending on when the polls were taken. I was not referring to the states that are being reticent in divulging the answers to the questions being asked of them by Trumps Commission.

It seems Mr. Trumps base is always with him-for whatever reason- no matter what Mr. Trump says or does. Mighty loyal people are those members of “Trumps Base”.

I've never seen any figure over 36% of Retropubicans as his base. That means about 12% of the voting population. LOL - I just saw that autocorrect changed "Republicans" to "Retropubicans". Since it's so apt, I don't think I'll change it.

FiveThirtyEight has better numbers: Donald Trump’s Base Is Shrinking. Because the premises are different, the numbers don't necessarily follow. I was figuring "Trump supporters" rather than including Republicans who are straight party voters.
