This is the ONLY safe form of nuclear power there is.
It cannot be weaponized on a practical, feasible level, and it is virtually MELTDOWN PROOF.
And the supply of thorium is an abundance of 8.1 parts per million (ppm) in the Earth's crust, it is one of the most abundant of the heavy elements, almost as abundant as lead (13 ppm) and significantly more abundant than tin (2.1 ppm).
It is found virtually everywhere on Earth.

An interesting read, but it is anti-coal, and our current president reportedly reads at the lollypop level.

Apparently Thorium mining and use is fantastically more efficient that Uranium:

Uranium versus Thorium

Rare earth element mining has a real problem with Thorium in the tailings. Just from this activity, we get more Thorium than we use!

I remain convinced that small modular reactors are the way to go. There are several advantages. The first is safety - they cannot meltdown, blow up, etc. The second is that there are a number of designs which allow for the actually use of the nuclear waste we have more than enough of. I understand that China is either building a factory or is planning to build a factory to make these things and we are testing them right now.

The only problem is can see is that the greens knee jerk anything nuclear, irregardless of facts.

Just a thought.............
