If Roy Moore is elected it is an existential threat to the federal system. What it shows, starkly, is that the voters of a single State can poison the entire legislative process. Mind you, that has been true since the creation of the legislature, but what he represents is the reprehensible reality of extremism. The structure of the legislature is inherently unrepresentative, but gerrymandering has exacerbated that circumstance, allowing parties to corrupt the system and put dangerous nutjobs in positions of power. It's a process that has been underway for decades, culminating in the election of Trump.

You're right, though. The only corrective is for people of principle and values to get out and vote, and to run for elective office.

Here's a gem:

Roy Moore Says America Was Great During Slavery

Why, you might ask? Because that was when families were all united.

Well, except for Black families who were often broken up and sold to different slavers. Or maybe because you didn't have to hunt the malls for teens, you could just go buy what you wanted. Or maybe even because the Age of Consent was 10?

Black Lives Don't Matter: "they" don't vote Republican.

Lilac Fire roared past us yesterday. The wind direction saved us and it went West. It was one canyon over. Fortunately, no wind today but now we can smell it when we go outside. Yesterday and last night the wind was so strong we could watch the flames but not smell it!

I know we have a few other Ranters in the affected areas and would really like to see them check in.
How about it, mi familia?
Are you all okay?

The saddest thing about the fire: It burned San Luis Ray Downs that had something like 450 race horses in residence. At least 20 did not get out alive. One guy described trying to get his filly out of her stall, but she was too afraid to come out. He had to watch while she burned alive. The hands had to let lots of horses out of their corrals and stalls to run free. I guess they have most of them rounded up and in stalls at Del Mar Racetrack now.

Nobody died, but some people were hurt. One firefighter got hit by an exploding propane tank. It dislocated his shoulder but he popped it back in and went back to work! A REAL man...

I saw the footage of the bear yesterday.
It took a lot out of me.

In the meantime, do either of these entries stir any interest out there in Ranter Land?

TRUMP WHITE HOUSE WEIGHING PLANS FOR PRIVATE SPIES TO COUNTER “DEEP STATE” ENEMIES

"God's Plan for Mike Pence" $800 Mn buyout attempt??
