“I’ll Eat Mom For Christmas”: Grieving Daughter Plans To Season Turkey With Dead Mother’s Ashes

Catherine Townsend
CrimeFeed (Investigation Discovery)
December 18, 2017

Quote:
FOLKESTONE, KENT, UK — A grieving woman plans to pay tribute to her late mother — by seasoning her Christmas meal with her ashes, and then eating them.

Debra Parsons, 41, will sprinkle the cremains of her mother, Doreen Brown, on the turkey and dessert. “We will have a place laid for her and a picture of her on the table so she can be with us on the very special day,” Parsons says.

The mother-of-two from Kent was left distraught when her mother died in May. She told The Mirror that consuming the ashes is “the only thing that will get me through my first Christmas without mum.” She said, “My mum and I had a really strong bond and one which could never be broken, even by death.”

Hey, well, Raasan Rowland Kirk, a famous jazz musician back when (1960’s) , said he wanted to be cremated and then put into a bag of bud then “smoked”. Then he hoped “Someone would get something out of it!”

Look it up.

Same thought, same great station...

I've indicated that I'd like my ashes to be used in something artistic or creative but I don't think I would want folks to EAT them!

Very Stranger In A Strange Land, except they made soup.

I plan on having my ashes scattered, at places I liked. A bit here, a bit there. That seems reasonable.

They can just toss mine in the trash. I don't have any romantic notions about what to do with my remains.

I go back and forth between cremation and burial. It comes down to DNA and history for me. I do a lot of genealogical research, and I get comfort (and records) from cemeteries - but, I don't want to take up and waste space.

I plan to be pyrolyzed, charged up with microbes and nutrients, and spread on a farm.

Of course they can take any parts that would be useful first, but I'm 66 now so they may not want them. Other than that, worm food or crab food, doesn't matter to me. Being cremated and scattered is just so the living feel that they've done something. I don't want to leave behind anyone who thinks I had unfinished business or regrets.
