A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
To blame the poor for subsisting on welfare has no justice unless we are also willing to judge every rich member of society by how productive he or she is. Taken individual by individual, it is likely that there's more idleness and abuse of government favors among the economically privileged than among the ranks of the disadvantaged. -Norman Mailer, author (31 Jan 1923-2007)

I see Trey Gowdy (Mr. Benghazi) has decided to leave Congress after this term. There certainly are a lot of Republican stars who can see the Blue Wave coming! It's a lot more dignified to quit rather than lose your seat in the election. Or to serve with your Party in an extreme minority.

Howdy is angling to take Rosenstein's post.

NWP, you don't think maybe he cut a deal for the House Ethics committee to not go after him for falsifying Hillary's emails in exchange for not running in 2018?

He would be on Fox calling it "TrumpCare".

Republican heads in Congress would explode, but as far as he's concerned, if they lose big in November, then they're just "LOSERS".
We know he hates losers.
If your team is losing badly, just join the other team, you're absolutely right!

And the great rehabilitation and normalization of this ignoramus would be "brought to you by the Democratic Party", with Pelosi and Schumer making grand gestures about how "we must learn to work with the President", even after he's spent the last year tearing apart the fabric of civility, decency, honesty and accountability.

Because deep down, the current crop of establishment Democratic Party leaders are also every bit as bereft of principle as the Republicans.

And I say that AS a Democrat, because my dream is to do to the Democratic Party what the Tea Party did to the GOP starting in 2010, only without Koch Brothers money.

I've been forced to reevaluate my position, and in some ways, it's more than a little unnerving. But the Miss Pollyanna in me is rearing its ugly head, and I am forced to reckon with some alternate possibilities. Pollyanna is starting to sound like the Talking Tina doll in The Twilight Zone, and she's giving me nightmares.

Excuse me, I need to go scream into a towel and punch some walls.

The right never punches right Jeff, but the 'left' always punches left. There are reasons for that.
Luckily there are ways to circumvent the Democratic parties control of candidate selection. The intercept article I posted gives plenty of examples. We have a campaign donation that puts all the money raised in escrow to be given to the winner of the primary. A bottom up approach and not the top down of the tea party or DCCC.
There's also going to be a lot of help needed on the ground. Lace up your work boots!
