He makes logical leaps a mile wide. He flips his positions to match the last person he talked to. If a Democratic majority sent him a bill for Single-Payer I honestly think he would sign it with a big press event to claim credit for it, and say: "See, I told you we would have better and cheaper health care coverage for everybody during the campaign." He would be on Fox calling it "TrumpCare".
Republican heads in Congress would
explode, but as far as he's concerned, if they lose big in November, then they're just "LOSERS"
We know he hates losers.
If your team is losing badly, just join the other team, you're absolutely right!
And the great rehabilitation and normalization of this ignoramus would be "brought to you by the Democratic Party"
, with Pelosi and Schumer making grand gestures about how "we must learn to work with the President"
, even after he's spent the last year tearing apart the fabric of civility, decency, honesty and accountability.
Because deep down, the current crop of establishment Democratic Party leaders are also every bit as bereft of principle as the Republicans.
And I say that AS a Democrat, because my dream is to do to the Democratic Party what the Tea Party did to the GOP starting in 2010, only without Koch Brothers money.
I've been forced to reevaluate my position, and in some ways, it's more than a little unnerving. But the Miss Pollyanna in me is rearing its ugly head, and I am forced to reckon with some alternate possibilities. Pollyanna is starting to sound like the Talking Tina doll in The Twilight Zone, and she's giving me nightmares.
Excuse me, I need to go scream into a towel and punch some walls.
