That's the point. How come everyone doesn't immediately SEE the fact that all of this AMOUNTS to a stacked deck and that it's plain old CHEATING?
Just call it what it is fer chrissakes, it's not complicated.
These people are CHEATING the system.

Why is that so hard to sell to the American people?

Probably because the concepts of sportsmanship and fair play are missing these days. Cheating for your side is more than acceptable: It is good. The best example is the difference between boxing and WWE wrestling. Any violation of the rules gets your boxing match ended and the violator loses. Hitting an opponent with a folding chair is fine in WWE. Referees are just their for show. They have no function.
