FedEx won't be cutting ties to NRA. Hmm

Today, I stop using FedEx. Hello UPS. smile

Dick's Sporting Goods will no longer sell AR-15 and other assault rifles. They are raising the purchase age to 21, no matter what various states' laws say. They are also no selling the bigger ammo clips.

A big slap at the NRA, no?

Edit Reason: couldn't spell AR-15

Delta broke ties with the NRA.

Then Georgia's Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle threatened to torpedo tax breaks for Delta. Is that legal?

I heard on the news that other major cities offered to give Delta a warm welcome if it wished to relocate.

I'm sure constituents won't mind Cagle chasing jobs out of the state.

Since Georgia is a hard core Socialist state that believes strongly in the government controlling the means of production, yadda, blah, etc., it is probably legal. They believe in controlling the means of production concerning babies, too, so at least they are consistent.

The Lieutenant Governor's action (abetted by his Republican legislative cronies) is one of the most brazen acts of corruption I've ever seen. That, I think, is the hallmark of Republican corruption today. Brazen, blatant, bold, barefaced, naked, pick your adjective, there is no morality in the GOOP anymore, and they don't care who sees it. They wear their corruption like a badge of honor and behave with impunity. It's disgusting. Trump really is a model for the GOOP.

How The Gun Industry Funnels Tens Of Millions Of Dollars To The NRA - Business Insider.
Quote:
In its early days, the National Rifle Association was a grassroots social club that prided itself on independence from corporate influence.

While that is still part of the organization's core function, today less than half of the NRA's revenues come from program fees and membership dues.

The bulk of the group's money now comes in the form of contributions, grants, royalty income, and advertising, much of it originating from gun industry sources.

In a massive understatement, the article concludes, "The NRA's revenues are intrinsically linked to the success of the gun business." Omg are they!
