It is already clear that there will be considerable efforts to game the 2018 election through false narratives. I was once trained as a journalist, and good journalism is like science - one has to challenge one's own assumptions to avoid bias. In the process, one also develops "reliable sources", mostly people who have consistently provided information that has been corroborated.

There are certain news sources that I consider my "reliable sources" when learning about a story. There are others that I read with much or massive skepticism. I think it is incumbent upon all of us to develop our "really sources" not, before the inevitable onslaught of misinformation that will follow. I think we also need to start to learn some of the techniques for fact-checking! an ode to fact checking.

I came across this chart this morning.
Useful, I think: How biased is your news source? You probably won’t agree with this chart - MarketWatch.

That's been around for a while but it got populated a lot more since the last time I saw it, which was when it only had about eight or nine sources.

They warn that we won't agree with the chart, but I think it is quite accurate.

I think it's pretty much spot on.

I concur tam bien. But then go and take a look at the comments section below the article and ask yourself if the general population is really that blindly partisan or if there is something else going on there.

Such as perhaps nefarious programed robots of one persuasion or another spouting extremist drivel of whatever flavor is their chosen shade. As I have said for a long while now, these “comments” repeat a pattern of extremist views time and again. Like clockwork.

That has to have some effect, no?

A lot of them are regurgitating IRA agitprop from St. Petersburg, RU.
