Donald Trump's tweetstorm against Amazon.com is blamed for the 6% drop in is share price. Given its phenomenal growth and expected return (projected at 24% this year), it seems like a Good time to buy. The problem, of course, is its share price of $1400+ per share. Even if Trump could drive postal rates up (he can't) it won't seriously hurt Amazon.

I think it would be appropriate to investigate if Trump pals are shorting Amazon and trying to dump Sinclair stock (which is flat). Trump's pronouncements seem aimed at manipulating stock prices.

Time to invest locally... past time, actually.

Yes. Just another example of the endemic corruption in the Trump administration.

Even thought the jackass is starting to dial it back I think he will keep it up. That being the case I would wait for the probable, and expected, Republican economic downturn brought on by his trade war(s). If that happens the entire market will tank thereby making the choosing of what to buy more interesting. This is a economic standard reaction to much of what the Republicans do and everytime they have embarked on one of these things you can rely on them to take it to the edge and we can, I believe, count on the jackass to go just a bit further. I believe this is particularly true, this go-round, as they have fulfilled more of their wet dreams that they have ever even believed possible.

The good news is that its starting to hurt their supporter base and its gonna get much worse before it gets better. If history is any indication, the voting public will vote in the Dems to fix the problems before they go, yet again, right as success seems to really upset them (the voting public). Again, the good news, is that this will be happening in the midst of the mid-term elections. My fond hope is that 1)the Dems don't screw this one up and 2)them that are in the middle or on the left understand that their ONLY choice is Democratic.

Oh - trade war:

I thought I would add to the above for the heck of it. I have a number of friends who chose to sell at the bottom, never got back in, and lost bigtime in 2008. I would advise against panicking or trying to time the market or listening to anybody who thinks they can. Unless you have insider stuff that is a road to disaster. The best way to go is to due your due diligence, e careful, buy the good ones and hold on. If you are really concerned I guess you could sell out, right now, and then watch the market collapse. However, if it doesn't then.................. Given that the jackass has doubled down and the market seems to be crashing then who knows!

If you are really into gambling goto https://www.predictit.org/ and have at it. I put in 10.00 a couple of years ago. I think I now have about 50 cents left but its been interesting. Its a place where you can put some money where your mouth is and then reap the rewards of your incredible ability at forecasting politics. At least, at predictit you actually stand a chance.
google: "how accurate is predictit" and read all about it <G>
