It just amazes me that so many people think that the USA is still a functioning country.

Why don't they want to tear up the Constitution and start over?

I can only think it must be the lingering effect of saluting the flag all those years in elementary school.

I've never been so scared for my country.

Arpaio, Libby, D'Souza... the pattern is stunning, and so patently corrupt I'm breathless.

The bigger problem is that when justice fails, some people deliver their own punishments. If D'Souza accepts the pardon, he is admitting guilt and at the same time painting a target on his own back. When you go to prison, everybody thinks you paid for your crimes, even if they are not satisfied with the sentence. Hundreds of millions of people here in this country: Somebody will decide this guy is skating without his just punishment. Hopefully, they don't kill him. But that too would be a message.
