Quote:
Illinois government offices remained open Saturday as the home state of former President Barack Obama commemorated his birthday under a new state law.

The bill marking Aug. 4 as “Barack Obama Day” throughout the state was enacted without making the date a full-scale holiday.

So everybody should go out of their way to arm drug dealers, should accuse the police of being racist and hold beer summits after making a fool of oneself, should bow to foreign leaders while apologizing for American success, and last but not least, should finally be proud of America.

Yeah, Obama days wee great.

President Obama made me proud to be an American.

For lots of reasons. That you have blinded yourself so you cannot see why says more about you than me.

If President Trump makes you "proud to be an American" then I think you should re-examine what what you think it means to be an American.

History will not treat Trump as kindly as it will Obama. There will be no "days" named for Donald Trump in New York.

A person can be critical of President Obama and not be a fan of President Trump. I have made no secret of my dislike for President Trump's personality. I believe in my bones he is a moron. But that doesn't mean that I can forget what the last guy "achieved". Not only was he in way over his head, he ruins the healthcare system and lied about it to America. Doesn't anybody remember the quotes about how much less Obamacare would cost? Or that you would be able to keep your doctor?

It is not my fault you ran Hillary, it is your fault. Had you run somebody even a little likable, Donald Trump would not be POTUS. The fact that what he is doing is actually working is as baffling as it is fortuitous. Look at the bright side, only six and half years left in his presidency.

Short term history is politically correct, they will overlook the incompetence and naiveté of the man and focus on his many accomplishments, and when they don't find any they will make some up. In the long term, if things continue as they are now, "The Don" will be looked upon as a success. We'll see. He likes to take chances and eventually that will probably bite him in the ass. But god, has there ever been anybody luckier than him in modern politics?

I didn't make up 4% GDP
I didn't make up the Hispanic unemployment numbers
I didn't make up the African American unemployment numbers
I didn't make up the tax cut that spurred the economy on
I didn't make up the NATO promised increases
Two Supreme Court appointments, and if we are lucky, he could get another one.

I understand that you guys are bitter about Hillary losing to this schmuck. I understand that you guys will do just about anything to force him into uncomfortable situations. I understand, but you obviously do not, that he doesn't need your help; he will do it all by his lonesome. I understand that sour grapes are hard to get out of your system and leaves a nasty rash on their way out.

Just understand, because you don't want it to be true, doesn't mean it isn't true. I am as baffled as you are, but in the end Trump is having as good a term as anybody could possibly hope to have. Even the idea that he was elected by Russia has become a tag line for a knock knock joke. So you just keep your head buried in the sand, keep thinking that he is a stooge (true) and that he is a failure (false). Because if you keep thinking that way, the midterm elections will become another success story.

It isn't that Trump is great, it is just how frightening a Dem administration would be.

There's a train wreck coming, Tim.

The economy is ticking along nicely in spite of Trump, not because of him.

It may not happen until his second term, but this thing is gonna fly apart at some point.
