So I see the DOJ is salivating over the prospect of prosecuting Assange when he gets thrown out of the embassy. I confess I'm kind of confused about what they want to charge him with. Some folks say treason, but he'd have to be a US citizen for that. "Helping the President get elected", so an in-kind campaign contribution by a foreigner? Don't we just fine people for that or confiscate their US assets? Publishing some emails, with no commercial value, and no attempt to extort anybody? All seems like rather weak tea to me. I see no attempt to extradite those Russian hackers convicted of the actual hacking.

They would love to extradite someone. Assange is a co-conspirator with the Russians, so there is that...

I wonder if an arrested Assange would make a deal to testify before Mueller's grand jury to tell all, and get a minimal sentence. He was acting like a journalist, and if we prosecute every person in every country who doesn't like US policy, we would have to imprison most of the world.

A little bit of knowledge can be a dangerous thing. I bet that guy needs to find work in another field.
