Democrats’ First Bill in New Congress Would Actually Drain the Swamp (New York Magazine) No chance Republicans would sort this.

Maybe the grey matter of the Democratic Party isn't completely smooth after all.
This has amazeball public support and the party might have just stumbled backwards into an issue that has broad popular support and will create stark contrast with their political opponents.
But I remain pessimistic. This is the Democratic Party Y'all. Maybe they could have started with cleaning up the thuroughly corrupt party nominating process. Even the very modest reforms that Sanders got post 2016 reconciliation hearings between the dominant corporate and progressive wings of the party. Things like, I don't know, making sure the party apparatus isn't financially taken over by one candidate before the contest begins?
Otherwise, without any serious reforms within the party, this may be no more than a hog in heels.

With lipstick.

But...it's what they need to do. Send popular sh*t to the Senate so it looks bad when they refuse to even vote on it.

2020 is the gold ring.

The first thing we have to start with is actually winning some elections and establishing a workable majority, so that we actually have the legislative power to do some good.

You remain pessimistic even when there is good news like New Mexico going all blue (as per Logtroll's post) or...THIS:

Brudda please.
This is the same party that sent its whip around the country to squash progressives out of the primaries. The same party that has instituted pay go, blunting any progressive momentum. The party that primaried Ellison for Perez at the last moment assuring centrist control of the national committee.

It would rather hold hearings on Russia, Russia, Russia than talk about poverty or eternal warfare, monopolies, wage theft, tax evasion of corporations, the war on organized labor, etc,etc...

But you think they've had a sea change? They went to the mountain and got religion?
I'm not the least bit confident.

Watch the head fake. They're good at it, these centrist.
