Probably because some of the locals are wondering about the very same things. Really, Trump should have shut the government down when some other parts are unfunded. Not paying ICE, the Border Patrol, or the Coast Guard seems especially stupid when you are trying to get people excited about border security! Or the TSA when you want them excited about terrorists. Seems like Trump is up to his old tricks: Create a crisis and then take credit for solving it by stopping the crap you were doing.

If there's anything I know about Republicans it's that anywhere a government tit gets exposed they will attach themselves to it. Trump imagines all these suffering people to be Democrats. I suspect at least half are Republicans.

This is hitting his base right in the pocketbook.

Ya'member when he promised better jobs, higher wages, and cheaper insurance?
Along with a wall. "Lock Her Upô" MAGA

The wall was cool but what they really wanted was for government to hook them up with more money and stuff. (Democrats only give that stuff to blacks and illegals)

I purposely worded the posts so they weren't obvious anti-Trump, but framed the posts as to make the reader question if Trump is even a good President - that was my goal. smile

I presented myself as a very disappointed Trump supporter. Any cracks in the glass ceiling is ok by me. Cracks become fissures, and the whole Trump charade comes crashing down.

I will say that Trump supporters are very stubborn in their support of their bloated orange KKKlown.

Exactly.

Republicans: "Free stuff" is for white, native-born Americans. Hmm

Most racism is not about Blacks and Brown people's behaviors being bad. It's about having someone lower than you, so you are not on the bottom rung. Because most racists ARE on the bottom rung.

Remember Harry Anslinger's remark about cannabis: "Reefer makes darkies think they're as good as white men." He was head of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics - these days the DEA.

Interesting headlines today: Belarus Looking Into Russian Detention Of Former Model Who Claimed Kremlin Election Meddling (RadioFreeEurope). Now why, one might ask, would a Belorussian citizen, being deported from Thailand, be sent to Russia? Belarus is a separate country, its capital is Minsk, and there are shorter flights from Bangkok to Minsk. that don't involve flying 700 miles out of the way to Moscow....

That is not deportation. It is extradition and the US does it all the time.

Actually, no, it was NOT an extradition. There is a process for that. It was not followed. I don't even know if Thailand has an extradition treaty with Russia. But, she's now in Belarus - a country now run by a Putin ally. In the meantime, the evidence is being destroyed.

I think the process is something worked out between the two countries. If Russia and Thailand have such a treaty, then they get to decide what the process is, and it may have nothing in common with the Thai-US process. I don't think there is any international standard for extraditions. Maybe their agreement is "We ask for a certain person we think committed a crime in our country, and you put them on the next plane, no questions asked."
