I have been following our Middle East Conference. It is, basically, a meeting of all parties that are on the side of the Sunnis. The Saudis, Israel, United States, etc. The Sunni/Shia war has been going on for over a thousand years! I find it interesting that nobody ever mentions this little thing. Instead we are, for instance, slaughtering Shia in Yemen, every man, woman and child. I understand that the Saudis simply do not consider any Shia to be even human and, I guess, we go along with that. I have always also found it interesting that virtually all terrorist groups we have been forced to deal with have been Sunni. The ISIS group, for instance, continue to use the hate America school books of Saudi Arabia. Iran is a Shia country and, apparently we hate them for that.
I just find it interesting that we are, basically, spending treasure in this thousand year old war and we are supporting the very people that also hate us (Sunnis). Basically, we spend a lot of treasure, in the Middle East, pissing off both sides.
I am guessing that the reason for all of this is our unconditional support for Israel (won't go into how they have consistently screwed us over). There is also some belief that this 'conference' is working hard to get everybody ready for a war with Iran which our own military has said would be a really bad mistake. Apparently another war is no problem at all as we have money, literally, to throw away and nobody cares as we gotta support our "good friends" in the middle east?
Given that Jackass, our dear leader, is a self proclaimed expert in "debt", and has managed to increase our national debt by a trillion dollars a year, I guess we have absolutely nothing to worry about?

Initially that was a fact. Now, however, we seem to have become a major exporter of oil ourselves. Given the amount of treasure we have spent, trying to 'help' that area, I suspect that, at least eventually, somebody is going to figure out that its no longer worth it. This is especially true if we really do start dealing with climate change which, I firmly believe, is going to start sooner rather than later as stuff continues to heat up.
I think, however, that the most upsetting thing is our obvious choosing of sides in a thousand year old religious war. I wonder what a poll that asked; "Would you be in favor of the United States taking sides in a Muslim Religious War?" It would not, I think, be even kinda favorable.
