Sam passed-away at 4:07 pm this afternoon. I was with him. We were nose-to-nose looking into each others eyes the entire time. He did not suffer. He simply went to sleep.

So sorry for your loss Rick. We too are dog lovers. Our dogs are 11 and 14 and I suspect, will soon be leaving us too. We haven't decided if we want to have more after these are gone. It is so hard when they pass. It is a comfort to know, though, that our pets have had a wonderful life with us and we have done everything we could to keep them as happy as they've kept us.
