We seem to be verging on becoming a nation of suckers. Something over 30% of our population are Trump true believers. I know a couple of these. They actually claim, for instance, that the man has never told a lie! They take every utterance, and tweat, to be the literal truth. They spend every waking hour supporting, admiring and talking about their Great Leader and woe to anybody who might disagree. There are also folks like Preacher Franklyn Graham who, on tv recently denied vehemently that Trump has EVER LIED! (and who, we are told, actually relied on Trump to fix his blackmail problem over some dirty pictures)

Then there are those entranced by their 'Christian' preachers. I am talking about the big timers who have private jets and live in virtual palaces. There are a number of these. Here is a list of the top 10:
https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/net-worth-richest-pastors-will-blow-your-mind.html/
There are a number of these rich preachers. I watched one, on tv, claim that "God ordered me to buy this private private jet (worth over 30 million dollars!). If you add up the flocks of these people you can add many thousands more suckers to the list.

Then there are the Republican voters of red states of America. These are a group of folks that, apparently, simply do not have the capacity to vote in their own self interest. Many of these are also supporters of the previous paragraph's rich preachers. A couple of examples might do. If I am on food stamps, and my Republican rep voted for that and I still vote for him/here. If I live in a red state that is poorer than a blue state and I am a happy Republican voter.

All in all I am talking about a significant percentage of America! These are also members of our mythic voting public. There are, I am sure, other groups to be added to this list but, I think, the point is made?

This is, I suspect, a problem for which I have no solution. I do know, however, that they are out there and that makes me a bit uncomfortable. that being said there is some evidence that Democrats don't really try too hard to succeed in Red states or appear on Fox to spread the Democratic word.

Your experience may be different than my experience with Trump supporters, but ALL of the ones I know are driven by Mr Trump's public bigotry. Just last night I overheard one say something about not being able to kill a N*****R because it was against the law.

Listen, I have read all manner of rationalizations people use to try and explain Mr Trump and his base, and in my opinion they are all wrong.

First Mr Trump has NPD, which explains almost all if not all if his actions. He is motivated to create a universe in which he is the greatest person. Just listen to what he says ... I ... I .... I

Second, the Republican Base has for at least the last 30 years been a simmering group of bigots waiting for a messiah to lead the white nation. Mr Trump was the first presidential candidate to actually intimate in public he was, and remains a bigot.

I guarantee and will bet on the proposition Trump supporters will continue to support him regardless of what he does or says. Fraud ... corruption ... lies .... obstruction .... conspiracy. Doesn't matter folks. Mr Trump is the bigot-in-chief and he is their messiah.

In other words: SUCKERS!!!

There also seems to be a growing number of folk saying that if he loses 2020 he is not going to go peacefully, unless, of course, he has been seriously got to rights and then he will be looking for a place to hide from, probably everybody. I tend to believe that. This is a man who actually believes his own poison. Its actually pretty amazing. Most crazies have 1 or 2 realities. This is somebody who is balancing up to 20 at a time! Delusion does not even come close. His own attorneys didn't let him be interviewed because "he would lie". I don't think he lies, I think he lives in his own mind which he considers real.

I believe I made the exact statement when he won the election.

Check it out ... he is a narcissist. He believes everyone loves him. He has already laid out the framework for his Base that elections are rigged. Thus the only way he could lose is if the deep state has rigged the election. He already believes he has dictatorial powers. How hard is to even consider the possibility he would order the military to rebuff anyone who may try to eject him from the WH? Half the military support him.

Our political system has always relied on elected officials to voluntarily relinquish power when they lose an election. Why would Mr Trump do that? Who has the authority to remove him? Anyone think Rep Pelosi will strong arm him? He controls the military. Will some Constitutionally motivated general take it upon himself (thinking Gen Haig) to grab the reins of government and do what is necessary to preserve our democracy?

This could very well be the giuoco piano of political power. Man in power refuses to relinquish power ... and he controls the means to defend his position.

As president he kinda controls the military but, in the end, the military has always seemed to be in charge of the military. Either way its kinda scary.

Oh, another group to add to the sucker list. This time its NRA members. The NRA seems to claim over 5 million dues paying members (10.00 or 35.00 per year) Wayne-lapierre, for instance, make a million bucks a year!
http://money.com/money/5178193/wayne-lapierre-net-worth-nra-money-salary/
Not bad and, I am sure, others in leadership will not be far behind. The NRA started out as a lobby organization for the gun kmanufacturers and has grown to also be a political monster. I has arranged, for instance, for the congress to pass a law that denies the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives the use of computers. So, EVERYTHING is put on paper and if anybody wants any info from them its not easy for them to find and distribute. https://www.thetrace.org/2016/08/atf-non-searchable-databases/

So, we basically have over 5 million citizens sending their dues to a lobbying/politial organization so that they can control all guns in private hands and also buy congress. In addition to that the folks who run it live kinda royally. So, 5 milion more suckers on the sucker list.

Don't forget that buried somewhere in Dubai, UAE, lives the owner of one of the largest privately operated mercenary armies on the planet, Erik Prince, brother of Betsy DeVos. Prince is the owner of what used to be known as Blackwater Security, and I am sure that he would be glad to lend a hand if Trump needs him. He lives in a non-extradition country, so holding him accountable is going to be a toughie.

I think the NRA inflates it's membership numbers: Lots of people lose interest (or die) and stop paying dues but the NRA still claims them as members to inflate their power. The Humane Society of America and PETA do the same thing. My stepmom died in 2014 and they both still send her tons of mail.

One thing the "Trump stays in power" crowd ignores is that when he loses, somebody else wins. That person becomes President, Commander-In-Chief, and everybody who is sworn to defend the Constitution (vrs Donald Trump) goes with the new guy. That means the courts, congress, the FBI, the Secret Service, the armed services, etc. All Trump would have left is some alt-righters with AR-15s. Anybody who actually fought for him would be subject to arrest and execution for treason. Not a good bet!

I suspect they inflate their membership too. For instance, I think you automatically join when you buy a gun in a gun store. So, say they only have a million members - still!

I do know that LaPierre getting paid a million a year means that they are still doing pretty good to be able to pay that kind of money. I also realize that the gun industry also supports them.

I also think that adding another million to my sucker list is probably correct. The more I think on the suckers the more I wonder what the hell! (not real good for the nation)

OH, if he doesn't leave I am sure that the movers will come and he will be out. I think that point is that he is not going to go quietly, unlike his predecessors. My hope is that, by that time, he will be so disgraced and wrecked that even his true believers will have problems with him (I know, wishful thinking and, so far, not really likely unless the Dems can actually get to work on it)

I believe, based on the people he surrounds himself with, that HE IS a criminal enterprise.

Looks like greed and incompetence just might take them down. Good riddance!
