I was going to start a separate thread for this, but then decided... nah: Owners of Noah's Ark replica sue for rain damage (FOX). No, really.

Heading out for a 3+ week adventure in the morning! We've carefully loaded the wagon, packed the library with maps and journals, and we're heading off to the gold fields of California. California or bust! This is the final leg of our family Gold Rush sojourn, following the letters and journals of our ancestors and relatives who made the trek in 1850. If I strike gold, I promise to tell you all about it... in my Last Will and Testament. wink

Why didn't the Kentucky dumbasses make the Ark waterproof to begin with? I mean Noah did. Hmm

Actually, their arc suffered no damage. It was the access road that washed out, but the insurance company refused to pay which is the standard MO for insurance companies.

Flood insurance is generally sold separately....apparently a flood interfered with access to the ark. In Biblical times the Lord would have seen to it that everyone was on board before washing out the road.

This money grubbing grandstanding by religious fanatics does not have the same divine protection.

This might cheer you all up a bit:

GOP Nightmare

Seems the biggest gerrymandering consultant died and voting rights advocates obtained his hard drives and thumb drives legally. Now Republicans are horrified because most of their gerrymandering work is about to come undone. Hofeller worked in many states in the US, for decades. They have over 75000 files!

Quote:
Thursday, they dropped the first bombshell from Hofeller’s hard drives: A key portion of a 2015 memo written by Hofeller appeared in a draft Justice Department letter used to justify the Trump administration’s efforts to add a citizenship question to the census. Hofeller’s memo, which explains why the citizenship question would boost the voting power of “Republicans and non-Hispanic Whites,” indicates that administration officials lied about the reason for adding the question.

I heard that yesterday on the news.

Republicans have resorted to gerrymandering, voter-suppression and cultivated this philosophy: If you can't beat 'em, cheat ‘em! Hmm

June 1, 2019 is the start of Pride Month. This year's Pride Month is the 50-year anniversary of Stonewall. It's the night on June 22, 1969, when NYC cops went into a Greenwich Village bar to harass the gays as usual, but this night, the hustlers and drag queens fought back.

I've always known that story.

What I didn't know, and I just learned from John Waters yesterday, was that Garland died that day too 06/22/69. No wonder the drag queens were in such a bad mood that evening and fought back.
