It looks like, generally speaking, gerrymandering is nearing its end.
Politicians used to get away with just about everything because the bulk of the population was, for the most part, completely in the dark about it. Maps could get drawn in smoke filled rooms and the voters were none the wiser.
This here is the information age. Everybody knows everything as soon as it happens. And if it isn't right and it isn't fair then someone is gonna address the issue.
Gerrymandering is like that, so is the Electoral College. Wooden it be a hoot if Trump won the popular but lost the EC? Shoe be on the other foot then...big LOLS. Just imagine!
