The GOP corruption and cheating is getting really out-of-hand. Yesterday, the North Carolina's 9th Congressional District had a re-do election, because the results of the 2018 midterm were thrown out over fraud against a consultant for the Republican candidate.

The kicker is that the GOP won by 2.0 points after spending $6.3 million on a district that had been red since 1963.

This morning, right-wingers were celebrating winning a rightwing red district by 2.0% - when you celebrate a historically red district's win by 2.0 points, you know the movement is in trouble. smile

Then, this afternoon, America finds out that while the NC Governor and Dem legislature was attending a 9/11 Memorial Service this morning, the NC GOP legislature overrode a spending bill 55 to 9 - only half of the legislators present.

On the Federal level, Trump's Scottish Airport/Hotel scheme is coming under fire, with the US Military postponing the deal.

Trump's SharpieGate got a little weirder when SecComm Wilbur Ross threatened to purge NOAA staffers after Ross reportedly called the acting administrator of NOAA, Neil Jacobs, and told him he must fix the agency’s perceived correction of the president. When Jacobs refused, Ross reportedly threatened to fire political staff at NOAA if he did not comply.

The GOP has become a sleazy, nasty, cheating, unethical organization in the age of Trump and can no longer claim the moral high-ground. Hmm

NC Legislature
The vote, as you can in the link to the official NC Legislature website, was 55-15. The total number of NC legislators is 120. There were 70 legislators present which is a quorum and more than half of them. Since there was a quorum the vote is legal, honest, and ethical. (Because I don't have a paid subscription to the Washington Post I couldn't read the article.)

Not telling the truth about the number of NC legislators that were present for a vote is pretty sleazy and unethical. But then neither Republican nor Democrat politicans are paragons of virtue.

How is $6.3 million dollar 2.0 point advantage a win in a historically red district? Where's that infamous conservative fiscal responsibility you advocate for? Hmm

To be ok with taking a vote while your colleagues are at a 9/11 Memorial Service is very Trumpian of you sir. smile

There's the infamous "I can never call-out my side, I have to involve both sides" conservative argument I mentioned on SEPT 03 2019.

crazy

The sole purpose of a political party is to win elections. If you know of a way to reduce the cost of an election I'd love to hear it. I don't like the amount of money spent on elections but I don't know what can be done about it.

The NC Legislature does not ask me when they should meet so my opinion of when they do is irrelevant. I think they all should have been at the 9/11 Memorial Service. If all of our state legislators and members of Congress were to not go to work it would be great! If they aren't in session they aren't passing laws. What the hell has Pres. Trump got to with this Nor a damn thing. But you can't, or rarely, post any comments without taking a shot at Trump. It's a shame that Trump controls your life. As a reluctant and not too enthusiastic supporter of Trump I don't think and comment about him all the time like you do pdx rick.

That's because I know both sides are not paragons of virtue. To constantly and only attack one side, as you do, does not help solve the problem of sleazy, dishonest , and unethical politicians. Your constant focus only on Republicans is to give you side a pass. That is detrimental to our country. Spreading lies as you did with the story about the NC Legislature is also detrimental to our country.

That North Carolina vote was not just a case of "they took a vote, so it was fair": The Republicans told the Democrats three different times there would be no votes today, so they could go to the 9/11 memorial. When the Speaker noticed they had a quorum, suddenly he called for a vote. This was outright deception, so the Republicans in the NC House have proved they are lying sacks of sh*t, and are unfit for public office.
