Polling is a device used to try and determine how people, of whom 75% have no understanding about the facts of the issues, will vote.

Politics is the occupation of confusing people about the facts and persuading them to vote the way you want.

This all has something to do with why I remain interested in what people think words mean. Most often, people have feelings about the meanings of words, but in fact do not have a clear definition for them. It’s easy for politicians to manipulate based on word “feelings”. It’s especially easy to vilify what earnest and honest people say, to the point that telling the truth is dangerous.
You can’t solve a problem without first understanding what the problem is.

I would much rather have an interviewer tell the interviewee if you don't answer the question, if you filibuster, or if you lie, the interview is over and I will tell the audience precisely why it is over.

This always comes to mind
