NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James today announced that the New York Supreme Court ordered Donald J. Trump to pay $2 million in damages for improperly using charitable assets to intervene in the 2016 presidential primaries and further his own political interests. The award is part of Attorney General James’ lawsuit against the Donald J. Trump Foundation and its directors — Mr. Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump.

As part of the settlement, Attorney General James also announced that her office entered into multiple stipulations with the Trump Foundation and its directors to resolve the remaining claims in the lawsuit. Chiefly, Mr. Trump admits to personally misusing funds at the Trump Foundation, and agrees to restrictions on future charitable service and ongoing reporting to the Office of the Attorney General in the event he creates a new charity. The settlements also include mandatory training requirements for Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump. Finally, the settlements name the charities that will receive the remaining assets of the Trump Foundation as part of its dissolution.

Good to see that Trump and his ilk have been required to admit guilt. Usually a Trump settlement requires a "no wrong-doing" statement.

One of the skims from the Trump Foundation was a fund-raiser for a children's cancer charity that an usually high amount didn't make it to the charity.

In January 2016, when Donald Trump did not attend a Fox News debate, and instead, held a rally with the proceeds to go to the Veterans.

Except, the monies never made it to Veteran's charities until five months later when the pesky media started asking questions: Did that money you said was going to the Veterans back in January ever make it to them?

No wonder Trump hates the media. They're so pesky and nosy and getting all up in Trump's grifting business.

Now "Thief" can be added to his tag line - President Donald (..., Thief) Trump. If there is any poetic justice in life, maybe Convict could soon also be added...

They say improper use of charitable assets ... I say theft. That is now one of the more interesting personal qualities for a presidential candidate.

UPDATE: PBS Newshour said that Trump used some of that money from the January 2016 Trump rally when he didn't appear on the Fox News debate, for his own campaign.

I did not know that previously. Hmm

Depending on the amount used, it is yet another campaign finance violation - perhaps criminal - for which he can be charged after leaving office.

You know, all this "using money from rallies" BS sounds very much like somebody who is kiting checks. I wonder if Trump is actually broke, and has to do shady things to keep afloat.

As far as I can tell President Trump has actually admitted to giving 19 million dollars to charity and this adds another 2 million to the total. I know this because he said so, right on tv - LIVE! The man is, obviously, incredibly charitable! The poor man is, again obviously, confused?

(they should of throwed the jackass in jail)

Oh, I think they also ruled something about his children Ivonka and junior taking instruction on just what 'charity' is really all about (something like that).

Let's just say that truly rich people don't have to run scam "Universities" or "Foundations." The fact that Trump never contributed to his "Foundation' from 2009 to 2014 is telling. The fact that Trump laundered monies through his Foundations from real charity givers who gave money to his "Foundation," only then to give money-out once those monies were securely placed into the "Foundation," to make it look like the monies came from him, is really said and pathetic.

Hmm
