Wrongo, mate! Perhaps you haven't read what I've written about Biden?

Talk about blowing it! I can't think of an easier way to hand everything back to Republicans in 2024. The difference between us is that you'd consider that a win.

What I think and what you think really only matters as far as our personal vote. Perhaps that expands if you or I can talk a few more into voting the way I or you want. I think what America thinks as a whole is a lot more important in the grand scheme of things. I just received this from Gallup.

"Presidential Qualities Seen Lacking Among Leading Contenders"

https://news.gallup.com/poll/268370/pres...ign=syndication

Now you and I can argue about whether or not each of us deem so and so has presidential qualities or not. But this shows you what all of America thinks about the presidential contenders.

I usually tend to toss out what Republicans and democrats think concentrating on independents. The less to non-partisan and the unaffiliated. What surprises me is how good Sanders is doing among independents. But not so good among Democrats as a whole. He's been stuck in 3rd place for quite awhile.

What do I think will happen in the future. If history is any guide, if the Democrats win the white house and take back the senate. They will use those of us who voted against Trump and not for the Democrat/s as a mandate. The democrats will lurch this country to the far left think an anti-trump vote was a vote for them. Thus the GOP will win back the House in 2022.

We have a long history of voting for the lesser of two evils, the least worst candidate or party, the candidate or party we least want to lose instead of win.

Bill Clinton went too far left in his first two years and lost the House and Senate in 1994. G.W. Bush would have lost the house in 2002 if not for 9-11 which united the country behind him and his party. Obama went too far left and lost the house in 2010 and Trump went too far right and lost the house in 2018. History has a habit of repeating itself mainly because political parties don't learn from history.

I don't recall any lurches to the left. Anybody? Fill me in on leftward lurches I may have forgotten...a few timid feints to the left quickly counteracted by the wealthiest among us...but no leftward lurches.

Perhaps, Pero, you can show me some polls where progressive ideas lose to the more fascist plans Republicans have for us?

But voters do. Boomers may not control the outcome of this election...
So, as you like to say...we'll see. Or as I'm fond of saying...just hide and watch.

It won't be long now.

Lurches left and right are decided by the voters. No poll asks if a president has gone too far left or right. Those polls are in November of the first midterm generally. 54 seats lost in 1994, 63 in 2010, 40 in 2018 in the house. As I stated before, it isn't how you or I see or determine a lurch one way or the other, it's how America as a whole sees it. America's perspective on it.

As for this up coming election, I'll stand by my statement that it all depends on who the democrats nominate. They should win easily, should. But they also should also have won in 2016. The Democrats had prior warning about Hillary when a February 2016 poll showed 56% of all Americans wanted the Democrats to nominate someone other than Hillary. Of course the Democrats ignored America as a whole, they pleased themselves which was their right. No doubt about that. I think Sanders would have swamped Trump in 2016 for reasons I won't go into here, it would be like writing a book.

Which Democratic candidate is the right candidate that would be attractive to the independent voter which makes up 40% plus of the electorate? I don't know. Too early to tell. But independents are not fond of the big three or front runners at this time.

Comparing very favorable to very unfavorable, I'll not use somewhat favorable and somewhat unfavorable as they're wishy washy and change their minds all the time. Biden is at a minus 24, by that I mean his very unfavorable is 24 points higher than his very favorable. Sanders at a minus 17, Warren at a minus 19. Questions 42B, 42L and 42P. Trump is at a minus 16 among independents and independents only. Question 57A.

Just two other things, In this weeks generic presidential vote among independents, it's the democratic generic presidential candidate 39%, Trump 46%. Question 53

But if one looks at independents who want Trump to run for reelection, 32% of independents want Trump to run, 46% do not. Question 75. Mixed signals for sure, but its been that way for at least the last six months.

What turned the 1994, the tax increase which the majority of Americans were against. 2010 the ACA which a majority of Americans were against and in 2018, Trump tax decrease which again, a majority of Americans were against. But with Trump, I think it's more his obnoxious, uncouth persona and behavior that turns folks against him. Independents that is, the less to non-partisans, the non-affiliated.

Without knowing the impact of impeachment, without knowing who the Democratic nominee will be, basically a shot in the dark, I agree with you that the democrats should win the presidency and take back the senate. That's as of today, now tomorrow, depending on the numbers, not my heart, it could be a whole different ballgame.

The Mango Mussolini can't resign. He will stay out of prison only for as long as he remains in power.

Also, he can - or thinks he can - rely on a favorable verdict from the senate.

How "fun" will it be if he wins reelection with Dem majorities in both chambers of Congress. This is now actually within the realm of possibility, and even Republicans are admitting it, to themselves and to the public.
The bigger the majorities, the less "fun" Donald Trump is going to have.

Cue "health scare" in 3 -- 2 -- 1 ...
