Interesting site.

I think Hamish Howl will fit right in, and Gregor may have a partner in crime.

Yea, I joined the forum...

Look for Checkerboard Strangler, that's me.
I really do think DP and the Rant could work together somehow.
Yes, DP has a large troll element, but that is the reality in the rest of the online political world, folks. We are extremely lucky here and spoiled.

But if filtered and taken correctly, there's plenty of good here and on DP and both forums have extensive mutual interests.

And...there are a lot of cons over there who are rational and sane, and interesting as Hell, and I would like to lure plenty of them and some libs over here.

Naturally vice versa can be fun, too.
We have something to offer that DP doesn't...and vice versa.
You guys ARE going to LOVE Mister Hamish Howl.
He WILL make you clean coffee or soda off your screen, guaranteed.

The Allstate Mayhem guy IS his perfect avatar.

Well, I made it here.

And it's not that I cause mayhem, I am just an innocent bystander to a mathematically improbable number of chaotic events.

What I like best about Reader Rant is the format. I tried DP but I don't like the format. Heck, I never, ever use CHB because of their format.

I like the Disqus format too. I guess i'm just used to that one.

Welcome Hamish. smile

Thanks. I am more used to the old Simple Machines Forum format, but I will adjust.

DP is a good place to get in a scrap, but I wouldn't post anything substantive there.

Fun Fact:

Trump's farmer bailout because of his idiot tariffs has exceeded Obama's auto industry bailout. smile

I like to think that we respect the hell out of "substantive" over here.
You know what's really funny?
I keep thinking back to a film called "The Hustler" with Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason. I'll try to hunt down the clip but I am thinking of the scene where "Fast Eddie" finds himself in the parlor of a rich oilman who "plays BILLIARDS instead of POOL".
Of course, he kicks Fast Eddie's ass for about twelve hours straight until Eddie finally makes the adjustment to BILLIARDS.

I like to think that the Rant is to DP what billiards is to pool.
Billiards is a game designed to increase your accuracy.

Well, I can't find the billiards clip on YouTube but I'll never forget this line in the scene:

Quote:
"Bums play pool, gentlemen play billiards."

Gentlemen, pool is fun but I definitely prefer playing billiards, and this despite the fact that, in this particular billiard room, I am probably one of the lesser contestants!

I'm going to invite a couple of friends over.

One, a guy named Cain Aerte, is probably the most politically well-informed guy I know.

Bring as many as you want, conservative, liberal, fascist, communist, whatever. Just so long as they jive well with the pool/billiards thing. We play billiards in here. Or...I like to think we do!

Have them give me a jingle at the email ntsc 1984 AT gmail and have them give me a useable email address.
I'll add them manually...right now our registration queue is under attack by spam bots.
