I have no idea where this goes so I put it here.

Did anybody but me notice that, yesterday, the anniversary of the raid on Peal Harbor, that there was little todo and I didn't hear even a single rendition of "Remember Pearl Harbor" (and the days ...........)

Just thought that was interesting......

Pearl Harbor has pretty much gone the way of Fort Sumter, passed over briefly in history class and soon forgotten. Wars aren't glorified like they used to be.

Somewhere along the line word got out that wars are bad for everybody involved.

I remember, I remember every Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, 4th of July, Dec 7th, June 6th, Labor Day, Sep 11th. I remember; those I knew, those I buried, and those who have gone before me. Some days are just melancholy all day and the last third of the year is a biotch.

War should never be glorified, it should be taught for what it is; the last resort of all last resorts. Never begun lightly and when fought, you fight to win, no half measures, and won by the rules. War sucks...

Touching, but that was Germany. It was Japan that attacked Pearl Harbor.

Is anybody keeping track of the ravages of Class Warfare? The millions of deaths caused by it and the millions of lives ruined?

It is a second holocaust being played out with our acceptance and right before our eyes. We have our own concentration camps now with only one goal...the extermination of immigrants and refugees and the de-humanization of People of Color.

True, but some would say we provoked that attack on purpose so America would enter the war, by blockading all access of Japan to imported oil.

Of course, American antisemitism help fuel the Holocaust by denying entry to lots of Jewish refugees as the death camps were being built.

Nobody is blameless.

How many these days could even tell you that it was the beginning of WW2 for the US? Or even that the war was fought on two fronts?

They learned it in fifth grade or 7th or 9th, passed the test and moved on. Just like Fort Sumter and a thousand other battles that become the earmarks of our lives.

We are constantly at war. What difference one battle from another? What difference whether it is we who are the fascists or those whom we must fight. By the time I was born the "War" had been over for 8 years, talk of the dead was mostly over and no one in my immediate family was lost.

As a child it was the Cuban Missile Crisis and the cold war. When I was coming of age it was Vietnam. There were assorted skirmishes worldwide then it caught fire in the Middle East. It's been burning there a long time. It seems we never learn anything from wars. The very Jews who survived the Holocaust migrated to Israel and are currently playing the part of the Nazis. Next to Saudi Arabia they are our biggest allies in the region...
