Schumer has a spine. He just can't do anything with it.

They seem to be well on their way to mahem. I wonder if Pelosi could withdraw the entire thing, throw EVERYTHING into the courts and wait. The Supremes will get it eventually, and probably right around time for the elections (hopefully a month or two before). Then, when it all rains down things will get interesting.

If such should actually happen then it would solve all sorts of problems and also answer the question everybody wants to know, ie. "is the Supreme Court of the United States really packed by the Righteous Right?"

Just a thought - unlikely................

I have waited my entire life for this level of Marvin, and none of you better [censored] it up.

We don't need solutions. We need more chaos.

With the Senate trial now in process, letís look at where we were on 13 Nov when the official hearings began vs. today.

Trumpís approval 13 Nov 43.9%, 22 Jan 44.0%

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_trump_job_approval-6179.html

13 Nov ALL Adults, nationwide for impeachment and removal, 48.5%, 22 Jan 47.0% all Adults, nationwide for impeachment and removal.

13 Nov Democrats for impeachment and removal 84%, 22 Jan Democrats for impeachment and removal 86%.

13 Nov Republicans for impeachment and removal 12%, 22 Jan Republicans for impeachment and removal 8%.

13 Nov Independents for impeachment and removal 38%, 22 Jan Independents for impeachment and removal 45%.

13 Nov all adults, nationwide against impeachment and removal 45.7%, 22 Jan all adult, nationwide against impeachment and removal 47.9%

13 Nov Democrats against impeachment and removal 6%, 22 Jan Democrats against impeachment and removal 10%.

13 Nov Republicans against impeachment and removal 80%, 22 Jan Republicans against impeachment and removal 89%.

13 Nov Independents against impeachment and removal 39%, 22 Jan Independents against impeachment and removal 46%.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls...trump-6957.html

I see basically no change. That is outside of independents who were 38-39 against removal to 45-46 against removal today. Thatís still a one-point advantage among independents against. All that has happened after the official hearings in the House, the passing of the articles of impeachment and the beginning of the trial in the senate is the hardening of the views on Trump by each side.

Not sure what you find suspicious about his comments. Trump is all bluster. His comments on wanting people to testify is exactly the same as when he said he wants to release his taxes or that he wanted to testify in the Mueller investigation.

The more and more I'm seeing the "trial" go on the more inclined I am to say that there will be no documents and no witnesses at all.

The more interesting thing to see regarding that is what democrats choose to do when you have elected representatives refuse to do their job as laid out in the constitution. If I were in charge I'd run ads coast to coast of how absurd the idea is that you can have a trial with no witnesses or documents and that anyone interested in the truth would immediately realize the first thing you need are documents and witnesses. I would also let everyone know that since the senate refused to do its job, I will be bringing in everyone relevant and making them testify in the house, even if it means long court cases.

I think that at this point we're headed into the 2020 election season with a pressing need to flip the Senate with as large a majority as can be mustered, keep the House and hopefully win the White House.

At least, if Trump pulls a Nixon reelection he faces Dem majorities in both chambers, and the party's over for Donald Trump.

A speedy coverup/acquittal by Mitch and his Senate followed by what is sure to be the most unhinged State of the Union speech in history, will fuel the upsets, and Trump will lose his human shields.
