Do a majority of people really think that all Sanders supporters are "bros"??
I like Bernie Sanders, I think he can do a good job. I want a more fair and accessible version of capitalism like he wants.
But I'm here on record as saying not even a year ago that I thought his political aspirations to the White House were finished and that he should just enjoy his emeritus years and go back to being an elder statesman in Congress.
I'm also on record as being committed to supporting whoever eventually wins the nomination even if they don't thoroughly represent everything I am in favor of.
I daresay my thoughts and beliefs represent more than a tiny corner of Bernie's support.
Show of hands, please.
Bro or NOT Bro?

Bernie or whoever wins Dem nomination - 5 (100%)

You didn't give me an "anybody but Biden" choice.

Bernie is my second choice among the progressive candidates.

So no. I'm no Bro. But Warren is toast and I want a progressive candidate. It's Bernie by default.

If I am in any camp it is the Never Biden camp. You'll see why because I also believe he's going to be the next POTUS.

The recent surge by Sanders is ideologically pleasing to me. It shows that a pretty good chunk of society believes in progressive change. Not necessarily enough to win this election but increasing numbers are recognizing the need for real change, not just empty promises. An early surge by Sanders in the primaries could blossom into a movement.

Iowa...the little red state that couldn't....'Bout a half hour til they produce some results? Partial reporting...of precincts...

Pissant little state needs to do mail in ballots and end this nonsense.

You should look at the torrent of conspiracy theories floating around.
I don't think this was an attack by Trump Dirty Tricksters and I don't think the Kremlin hacked Iowa either.
I think the NERDS failed us.
They didn't adequately beta test the app, they didn't train users enough and they didn't put adequate resources at the front end to handle a failure situation.

And now it's "1973"* all over again, and by that I simply mean they have to count PAPER.

My own theory is that it's the Democratic Party refusing to accept a win by Bernie so they bolluxed the app on purpose to adjust the results. Anything but a win for Bernie is suspicious. And I don't say that as a "Bernie Bro". I'm just going into this thing expecting shenanigans...malarkey, as it were.

I am glad to see you are looking at this objectively.

Buttigieg showing an early lead and Biden in trouble. Sounds legit.

It's exactly as the polls predicted.

It isn't a failure of the caucus process, or a failure of Democrats in general, or an attempt to fix it for Bernie or against Bernie. It's stupid programmers who counted way too much on high-level languages that make internet apps easy to write. Yes, as long as they don't have a huge rush of accesses at once, they work fine. But there is a reason why pros actually analyze data flow and test applications before throwing them out there.

What was stupid besides that is to not make provisions for failure. Last election, they used phone reporting and it went fine. But this time they failed to have enough people and a telephone system that could support that, because everybody who could do that trusted the new technology.

But they will get it right: All the votes are there on secured paper ballots. Everybody who was at a caucus knows what that caucus' results were. There is simply no way to mess with the results without a lot of people crying foul. This is a much more secure system than using electronic machines that don't leave a paper trail.

I actually had the same kind of problem when I worked on a Homeplug chip for networking over your home AC lines: The interface everybody expects with Ethernet is collision sense / collision avoidance. A node sends a packet and every other node senses that and remains silent. But when two or more nodes send at the same time, they can detect a collision. So they wait a random length of time before trying to send again. But to make that work, they have to wait a pretty long time. Besides, other nodes can jump in during the wait time and send their own packets. The result is that as soon as a network gets crowded enough, the total performance goes in the toilet.

AT&T wanted to use Homeplug to do video surveillance in the home so the user could see what was going on remotely. But the system could only support four cameras at once because of all the collisions. I had to come up with an algorithm that got rid of most collisions while remaining compatible with Homeplug units from other manufacturers. The key was to keep a history of which units had transmitted recently and move them to the back of the transmit queue kept internally in each unit. Once I got it to work, we could support 10 cameras at once. And made the whole thing work for AT&T. But only if your Homeplug network had only these units. Adding somebody else's unit would work, but only for four or five cameras. That was fun!

Mail in ballots never have collisions. They could do three rounds if they wanted. It's a tiny little state...like three million people. Most of them are Republican so the Democrats only have to mail out about two dozen ballots....
