Yet another instance where the Dems simply are not doing a whole lot.
Its a known fact that the Republicans of the Senate are sitting on more than 400 bills passed by the house. 400!
This means, for instance, that candidates running might just mention some of these bills and actually promise that if they can take the Senate, as well as the House, they will start passing these bills and sending them to the president (hopefully Democratic). 400 is LOT of legislating. Here is a list of outstanding bills: https://www.vox.com/2019/11/29/20977735/how-many-bills-passed-house-democrats-trump
Here are some samples of the 400:
House Resolution 259 — Medicaid Extenders Act of 2019
H.R. 271 — Condemning the Trump Administration’s Legal Campaign to Take Away Americans’ Health Care
H.R. 986 — Protecting Americans with Preexisting Conditions Act of 2019
H.R. 987 — Strengthening Health Care and Lowering Prescription Drug Costs Act
H.R. 1520, the Purple Book Continuity Act (bill aimed at lowering the cost of prescription drugs)
H.R. 1503, the Orange Book Transparency Act of 2019 (bill aimed at lowering the cost of prescription drugs)
H.R. 1 — For the People Act of 2019
H.R. 5 — Equality Act
H.R. 6 — American Dream and Promise Act
H.R. 7 — Paycheck Fairness Act
H.R. 124 — Expressing opposition to banning service in the Armed Forces by openly transgender individuals
H.R. 8 — Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019
H.R. 1112 — Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2019
H.R. 9 — Climate Action Now Act
H.R. 1331 — Local Water Protection Act
S. 47 — National Resources Management Act
H.R. 2578 — National Flood Insurance Program Extension Act of 2019
H.R. 205, 1146, 1941 — Banning Offshore Drilling on Atlantic, Pacific, Eastern Gulf and ANWR Coasts
So, a candidate could, for instance, point out that the Do Nothing Senate is sitting on this stuff and mention at least 5 or six that people may want to see. There are some, however, I am not sure about. An extension of the national flood insurance to rebuild summer homes, built close to the water by the rich is one I am not real happy with.
Anyway, Just saying. It might be smarter to start campaigning against Trump instead of trying to rip off the faces of the other candidates. Given the current status, however, I somehow doubt that might happen.
