Have y'all read the transcript od the sentencing hearing? It was a tour de force of judicial bitch-slappery. Moreover, it is unlikely to be overturned on appeal. The 40 months was light, as most white collar sentences tend to be. The guidelines were put in place to correct that, but judges tend to come from the same economic class as the defendants, so tend to sentence accordingly. But, given that lenity, Stone may have to think twice about a new trial. The general rule is that a new trial "results in a retrial of the whole case, verdict, judgment, and sentence." The next judge may not be so lenient.

You're aware that Trump is just going to pardon him anyway, right?

All the rest is simply bluster, Roger Stone being Roger Stone.

I think Trump has started that process already, looking around for crooks to pardon just so pardoning Stone doesn't seem so corrupt. Which of course, paves the way for Trump's own pardon.

But, with any luck, somebody will kill Stone on the way home from jail. Are you watching God? A fatal stroke would be fitting. Then he can have a nice mausoleum with a floor drain. For all the people who want to leave a tribute.

Donald Trump is single-handedly de-criminalizing white collar crime and refuting the sentences of those incarcerated for it. He is right now brainwashing the brainless minions who support him into believing that these people aren't criminals at all, merely victims of partisan political attacks who were jailed for standing up against socialist attempts to destroy our nation.

At the same time, he is building a judicial system that feels the same way...That the crimes of the wealthy are not crimes at all.

Maybe not.

Why President Trump Can’t Pardon Roger Stone an opinion piece in Politico. May be this is why President Donald (...) Trump* cried and ranted over the expected sentence of his pal Roger Stone. Only the SCOTUS will tell...

* Impeached

“power to grant reprieves and pardons for offences against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.”

Roger Stone wasn't impeached...
