If Trump loses, I wonder if we will see any mega-churches holding a mass KoolAid party, Jonestown-style for true believers who want to see their own personal end times? Are Trump followers any less dedicated than those who followed Jim Jones?

I've always found it interesting how the Left can, broadly speaking, identify as though with a Stateside-focused Hubble Telescope, the smallest iota of anti-Islamist, anti-Hispanic, or anti-African American sentiment, and yet somehow doesn't see the contradiction in blithely passing the same kind of bigotry along when it happens to be focused on groups that it deems "Other".

You mean like a rightie broadbrushing "the Left" over one sarcastic remark?

Personally, I can't stand any religions. They are poison, pretty much without exception.

Some of them do seem to be dedicated to things that are bad for us, that are in direct conflict with a Constitutional Republic. It's like a contingent of Tories in Revolutionary War times. Hopefully, the future will happen (like it always has) and their ideas will slowly sink into obscurity.

I just hope lots of the real fanatics decide mass suicide is the best option when their Savior loses the next election. The Trump evangelists have built a much larger House of Cards than Jim Jones' followers. When it crumbles, it will be a shock to them. If Trump was chosen by God, then what must they do?

I've got no problems with any religion, as long as they stay out of politics. That's the problem with Christianity. The goal, as I see it. is to bring about the end of the world as per Christian prophesy. And to do it through manipulation of the US Government.

That's not just "other". That is an enemy trying to destroy the very planet I live on. An enemy who believes Donald Trump has been chosen by "God" to bring about the end of times. The Republican Party has become nothing more than a wing of The Church.

Church is imaginary sh*t. Government needs to concentrate on real sh*t

If Trump loses in November, no. He will be sainted as was Reagan and spoken of in hushed reverent tones.

If he is blessed with another term They will turn on him about halfway through when the economy finally tanks.

Sure - now imagine the likely response if any notable conservative or republican were to get in front of a crowd or television camera and lead off with:

"Now, the first thing we need to do if we want to solve [Problem X] is get rid of all the Muslims..."
