Actually, I love that this happened, because it opens the doors to a lot of things:

1) Discovery - The New York Times can subpoena all those people who refused the subpoenas by the House, and if they don't appear and testify, they will go straight to jail. Let's hear from Roger Stone. Let's hear from Mick Mulvaney. Let's hear from Mike Pompeo. And Mike Pence? Yea, you get the mike too. Let's hear from them all. Trump screwed the pooch on this one.

2) If this suit is not thrown out of court, then It opens the Door to Joe Biden being able to file a lawsuit against Trump, the Republican Party, and FOX News. Yea, there will be plenty of discovery here too. I think Joe Biden has a path to becoming a billionaire now. LOL. And the American people will get to learn a lot more about Trump's corruption and treason too.

3) Because Trump is so hooked on looking up to dictators, he just doesn't understand that it won't happen in America. Unlike Hitler's Germany, Stalin's Soviet Union, Un's North Korea, and other authoritarian regimes, America has a legal system that will shut it down in a heartbeat, and which will expose Trump for the fraud he is.

Let me quote George Bush here - "Bring it on".

I had a similar reaction when I read that. "Be careful what you ask for..." he doesn't get that "truth is an absolute defense", being so unfamiliar with the concept of truth.

Trump doesn't "get" a lot of things - that's just the way incompetent, science-denying imbeciles roll. smile

Yes, it would be nice if all that were to happen, but it never will. President Donald (...) Trump* will drag it out for years maybe decades, if Mother Nature is falling down on the job. Besides, all that stuff can not be published until the trial is over or the suit is dropped. Then, President Donald (...) Trump* will have an NDA Clause in the judgment or settlement agreement. It is a civil suit after all.

* Impeached
